You know the drill. Predict the team that signs the following free agents, or other outcome. Feel free to argue and comment and make fun of the picks you think are wrong. If I get around to it, will tally up the predictions and name a CPF Free Agent Championship belt to wear to parties and games and get-togethers and stuff.

Guys with * have options with current team. This is not a list of ALL free agents, just the prominent ones. Did I leave anyone significant off?

Well, obviously, he's praying.

So, the rumors that Kazmir will sign with the Hartford Charter Oaks aren't true?

13, 14, 23, 49.

In order of likelihood: Arroyo, Drew, Halladay, Granderson.

Drew had a terrible post season. I'm a little leery about signing him now that other teams may have watched the games and gone to school about how to pitch him.

As reported by Disassociated Press:

Bristol, Connecticut 3:04 PM
ESPN is reporting that the Mets have contacted the agent for Brett Favre to see if he is interested in making a comeback.

I don't believe it. Its probably somebody at ESPN making up a reason to mention Favre's name.

We need an OFer, a SS, and a SP.

[u:mifcawvn]who i want:[/u:mifcawvn]
M.Tanaka - P
S.Choo - OF
J.Peralta - SS

[u:mifcawvn]who we could get:[/u:mifcawvn]
B.Arroyo - P
C.Granderson - OF
S.Drew - SS

[u:mifcawvn]who we'll probably end up with, if they even sign anybody:[/u:mifcawvn]
D.Matsuzaka - P
C.Hart - OF
R.Furcal - SS

[u:mifcawvn]Or the Mets could go the all-PEDS way, because they might be cheaper:[/u:mifcawvn]
B.Colon - P
N.Cruz - OF
J.Peralta - SS

Nelson Cruz could be a bargain..PED's don't do them all in i.e Marlon Byrd...Granted that Cruz's stats were earned in the AL

Beyond that, year after year the roster of free agents looks more and more like a police lineup.

I could live with that.

I didn't put a lot of thought into it, so I didn't pick teams based on the other teams signing what I guess. They all seem like good fits though.
