Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I posted this idea in the KTE thread, but Frayed Knot suggested I start a new thread to get more attention. The basic idea is to write something similar to a KTE for all the teams in the postseason so as to prepare us for viewing these games. If you wrote a KTE for one of the teams in the playoffs it would probably be pretty easy to just update it for the postseason. Of course there are some teams that the Mets didn't play this season which would require some more research. I'll be happy to take one of those teams, the Red Sox, since I have some hometown knowledge. Frayed Knot has also offered to write up something for one of the teams. So we'll need 8 more volunteers, or if we can wait until the Wild Card games are played and then we'll only need 6 volunteers.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I tried that in 2006, after posting the MFY one that took me into the wee hours of the morning I got a few...lets say cease and desist responses for my project.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 That was hilarious to read, thanks Steve.I'll do a KTE.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 KC almost sounds like the voice of reason. Don't see that too often any more!

Now I can do a baseball card thread for the AL playoff teams that didn't play the Mets this season.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 So umps suck all over the game. Not just Met games. That's nice to know.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 This is interesting. MLB.TV carries the game and they allow you to choose which camera you want to view the action though. Individually or 4 at once. Five cameras total.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 The Rays move on.Texas folds.5-2
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 The field is set, for MLB at least. We need 2 to 4 more people to get this thing going.Mets - Willets Point: Red SoxKong76: PiratesFrayed Knot: TBDmetirish: TBDSteve Rogers: TBDLeiterWagnerFasterStrongr: Dodgers
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 If this thing does indeed get off the ground I'll take the Cardinals. And the only problem with taking the Pirates is that they're not assured of getting beyond the one game. Whoever wants them should be prepared to take the Reds if they win the WC game.

stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I need to hit up Foley's in NYC for some Iron City Beer (they have some ties down there, and are a big Penquin/Steeler bar during the winter)...

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 That's a heckuva lot of players to share with an AL West team.I like the Ed Charles card. Had no idea that KC wore red.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Lunchbucket's already claimed the A's.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Using that photo for Ronnies baseball card is just cruel.
