So on Friday, the Nats faced a young Mets starter with mid-90's electric stuff.

Then in the nightcap they faced Harvey.

Since the June 16th double header when Harvey and Wheeler swept the Braves the Mets are 21-13. That was the start. If we can sweep the Nats today in this double header, this would be the hump.
Now with Harvey going up against Ohlendorh I figure tonight is a sure thing. Ohlendorf has a ERA of 18.00 vs. the Mets.
But we know there are no sure things with our Mets.

Ross Ohlendorf is the night cap's mound opponent -- he's the brainy right-hander from Princeton who was smart enough to get away from the Yanx a few years ago.

Recently called up by the Nats after spending much of his career with Pittsburgh, 2012 in Sandy Eggo, and then the first half of this year in AAA Syracuse, he's made 1 start and 7 relief appearances for Washington giving up just 6 runs over 27 innings (2.03 ERA, 0.94 WHiP). He was last seen bailing out the Nats during Zimmermannn's last start when he got even more torched than today (pulled in the 2nd). Ohlendorf in that game threw six innings of relief work giving up two runs.
He's started most of this year in the minors and most of his career so he shouldn't be on a short leash despite being mostly the long man since his call-up.

Apparently this Ross Ohlendorf is a different pitcher. He's the same guy, but a different pitcher.

Wow. Shorty says Lagares is his centerfielder until further notice.

Good, I'd say he's earned it. But with the Mets saying they won't trade Byrd and Young also earning a spot (for now) this leaves few ABs to find out if any of the guys in AAA are the real deal this year.

Damn. Bad collision between Carrot Top and Brown on a pop up. Red took the worst of it, and held onto the ball.

That was some nasty brown on red violence.

It started June 16th alright, but the story wasn't Harvey and Wheeler. June 16th was the Kirk Nieuwenhuis Game (so let it be written, so let it be done). The double-header sweep was the 18th.

They had lost 10 of 12 going into the Kirk Niuewenhuis game (so let it be written, so let it be done), including two sweeps by the Marlins, and were on the verge of getting swept by the Cubs with what, up until the ninth-inning rally, was just looking like a terrible effort. Then BOOM![/bigpurple] new life, whatever Bob Costas might tell you.

Doh! I know I should always double check my facts here. And hey, I'll go with that as the start. We have no idea where we are really going but that can be the start.

He better not be.

Harveys last pitch that inning (Ks Span) clocked at 98. And it looked faster than that.

Satin drives one off the outfield wall and soft shoes it to second for a 1 out double.

Buck drives in Satin with his own double to the left field wall. Keep it goin. Everybody doubles today!

Lagares hits one 400 feet but it finds a glove up the outfield wall. Wasn't gonna clear it. Nice catch, Span.

Harvey gives up a broken bat bloop single to Werth then walks Desmond. No out.

Holy shit, what a great play by Turnip and Muffy throws it away, no DP, Nats tie it. Damn, that DP would have been just as good as the one thats the current top play on ESPNs top plays.

Great play by Turner but wow, murphy fucked that up a dozen ways... He had time to set and throw, but even if not you can't make a wild throw there... Just put the ball in your pocket and let Harvey face the pitcher with the lead still intact!!

Murphy got the force and he had plenty of time. The throw hits the runner as hes coming up the first baseline and the ball deflects into fair territory. I thought that was gonna keep the run from scoring but it didn't.
