I'm adapting this thread about the St. Lucie uniforms into the St. Lucie season thread.

A 4-0 shutout pitched by Luis Mateo, Randy Fontanez and T.J. Chism brings St. Lucie to 5-0 on 2013.

Amazingly, they sit merely tied for first, as the Ft. Myers Miracle (the Minnesota Twins affiliate in the Florida State League) is also undefeated after five contests.

Lucie obviously heard about Bingo getting no-hit tonight and decided to make up for it, pounding out 17 runs on 16 hits in their 17-1 victory over Palm Beach. Noah Snydergaaaaaard was brilliant, going seven innings and yielding only one run on four hits, walking one and striking out seven. The offense was led by... well, everybody, but shortstop Matt Reynolds had two doubles, a triple and five RBIs. Celebrate that one, Matt.

Lucie had a one-hitter today courtesy of Matt Bowmand T.J. Chism.

Bowman went seven, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out nine. Chism finished up with two perfect innings, striking out three more.

Batting third for the Lucies and collecting two hits was shortstop Bandon Hicks. Don't know if it's a rehab assignment or he actually landed down there.

PORT ST. LUCIE -- - Residents in a Port Saint Lucie neighborhood are battling with packs of feral hogs that are terrorizing them in their own backyards. Wild hogs estimated at more than 200 pounds are running wild in the gated community of Townpark at Tradition. "The one was like a darkish colored gray. Just dirty, smelly. They're not possum. They're huge 200-pound wild boar," said JoAnne Hennessy, a resident at Tradition. Hennessy said her yard is torn up and blames it on a pack feral hogs that move in at night. She said she will not walk her dog at night anymore fearing she will get attacked. "It's like a super highway back there for pigs. They come all the way down the fence line until they find an opening," said George Rudolph, who is a Tradition resident. Rudolph said he has told the HOA of his community about the problem, but continues to hear and see the wild hogs in his backyard, When reached for comment at a board meeting on Thursday, members did not want to speak about what was going on with the wild boar. "See that hoof print right there? Good looking hog," said Jeffrey Mayer of All County Hog Removal. Mayer said the wild hogs are more than just aggressive, they also carry disease. He said he is seeing more and more wild boar and estimates there are now thousands residing in St. Lucie County. "They wouldn't want me to have my front yard torn up, so why just because it's in the back and nobody can see it, it's not a big deal?" questioned Hennessy. Mayer said if nothing is done to get rid of the wild hogs, they will continue to multiply and terrorize the neighborhood.
