And with that 20th jack... Scott Hairston has officially priced himself out of the Mets' picture. Congratulations to Scott. Look at his teammates surrounding him. You KNOW they're happy for him. The couldn't BE happier. Everybody is.... OH! There's Justin Turner with the pieface!

Ha, yea, everything must go!

Will me saying Hefners pitching a fine game be whammy inducing?

Ike picks the final day of the season to start going opposite field.
His double kicked up chalk on the LF line and the HR just snuck in inside the LF foul pole.

That's either a nice fluke or a nice sign.

doff of the cap to whomever (G-FAFIF I assume) is quoting Primo Levi.
He's one of my favourite authors. Obviously everything's translated, so it isn't the same as devouring Auster or Irving, but his grasp of humanity is incredible.

Duda gets beaned and I do believe that's the first time Ive ever seen him really smile.

It hit him square on the back of the helmet as he was turning away, slow on ducking, and knocked the helmet off. Didn't look bad but he will take a seat with the other head damaged Mets.

That's all for Hef. Nice job kid.

Drumroll please as I hijack this IGT to celebrate my 12000th post here at the Pool!
No applause please. Please, please, sit down my friends.
I thank you all for your wonderful company in supporting this sometimes wonderful team.

Off-season to do list: get catchers that can catch the baseball. It's part of the job description.

And pitchers who can pitch. Pitching does involve getting the ball somewhere over the plate.

Going from Ramirez to Acosta is like going from a toaster to a toaster oven.
