Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I don't think it's advisable to play for a tie when you only score one run per month.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Crap. As he popped up I heard Muff yell "DAMMIT!" from here.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 Even with two balls out of the infield (for I think the first time today) they once again strand a leadoff runner
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Lost count. Was that five or six leadoff runners stranded?

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Kind of getting tired of seeing the Mets' fill-in-the-blank updates on Facebook: {Nice accomplishment by individual Met player} as Mets fall to {name of opposing team}.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 An impressive Major League debut marred by lack of run support -

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Lowest attendance since Citi opened 22 plus
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Noticed plenty of good seats out there for the taking. Two plays stood out -- the Baxter gaffe on the bases, and Valdespin badly misplaying that ball in center. From our vantage point, in the Promenade and behind the plate, we could tell right away that he was blowing it in real time.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Two things I saw in section 514 today that you don't normally see.1. A woman (at left, in grey) carrying a 1987 era cell phone AND a man's wallet in her ample sized brassiere.2. An obese man talking to a Mr. Met hand puppet during tense moments of the game, which then responded to him with hand puppet appropriate arm gesturing.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Wow, that's the sort of hard-core unemployable maniac attending on third-hand tickets that you ran into at Art Howe games.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 He looks like the prototypical comic book store employee.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 I think the hand-puppet thing is actually kind of funny. Sure it carries with it the possibility of getting pretty creepy pretty quickly, but whatthehell. The less said about the woman, however, the better.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I'm getting a creepy "Anthony Hopkins in the movie Magic" vibe from Met hand puppet guy.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Zvon's work on the picture of Fboy was fantastic. It deserves a prominent place on the Fman refrigerator.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 That would be the frefrigerator.
