Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 These uniforms look fantastic.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Dickey scrapes through another Phillie threat. Meanwhile, a baby falls asleep in my arm. Is it bad mojo to move her?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Thole already being mocked by Deadspin:http://deadspin.com/5901914/josh-thole-fell-for-the-old-tell-the-runner-it-was-a-foul-ball-trick?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+deadspin%2Fexcerpts+%28Deadspin+excerpts%29
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Did everyone else fall asleep too?The Phillies keep getting baserunners and the Phillies keep phailing to score. I hope this continues for one more inning.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Sure seems quiet in Philly. Good times.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Rollins turns two outs into zero. That's a net loss, kids, for you diehard Phillie fans out there.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 From the NYM Pessimist Department: The Mets really failed to capitalize there, let's hope they don't need those insurance runs they left on base.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Mets load the bases with no outs and only squeak across one run. Still, more than enough to win this thing.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Daniel Murphy doing a perfectly cromulent Wright imitation with the ninth-inning yips.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Glad to see that Muffie's muff didn't cost them a ball game the way that some former Mets 2B 2 out, 9th inning gaffe might.Put it in the books by the way.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Whew! That's the type of ninth-inning that the 2007-2008 Phillies would have made the Mets pay for.

Much more enjoyable than the Nats series where each game was 3-1/2 hours.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Pretty solid effort from the Mets despite it all.Tell ya what, neither Philly nor Atlanta looks all that friggin great so far, and maybe if we also didn;t suck Washington would be awfully beatable too.I'm declaring the East a 5-team Scramble.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I agree, but Phillie hasn't thrown one of their three aces out there at us yet. What we need to do is show we can do well against some of the division's top pitchers. Be nice to get our lefty mashers mashing a bit, too.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 Things I disliked:Thole's baserunning.Murphy's wickets.The mention of Rollin's 2007 MVP Award.Things I liked:The blue.Dickey.The time and pace of the game.Bay's Blast.Winning.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 This was a bad night for Philly teams that played against teams that have nicknames ending with "ets".Later

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 'Nother great pitching outing for the Nats - Jordan Zimmermann this time. Currently tied 1-1 with the Reds in the 13th on ... Friday the 13th.Braves in a wild one with the Brewers. 10-8 Braves in the 8th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Nats win in 13th on (say it with me folks) an infield single, two walks, and a single through the drawn-in infield.
