batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Suffers fatal injuries diving into the hotel pool from his fourth floor window attempting to save teammate Ike Davis. RIPVows to return in 2013.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 if his injuries are fatal, how does he return... as incorporeal being? the result of zombie infection? a clone? spiritual possession? instant reincarnation? Is Mr. Jordan involved in some way?.310 - 10hr - 50 rbi/50runs, before improper footwork on a DP causes yet a 3rd knee blowout. Traded to AL in the off-season.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Prior to his dive does he yell out; "I am a golden God!" ?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Catches hand in car door ala Bob Tewksbury and has no grade point average.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I'm gonna guess that he's limited to about 100 games. But... if he does have a mostly injury-free season, Murphy will hit .315 with 12 homers and 42 doubles. And, should he be worthy, he will possess the power of THOR!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Will hit and field his way to the American League, or left field, or something.14-70 299/360/450

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I'll say something along his career lines of .292/.343/.441. He'll do well enough defensively to survive the year at second base, but next year he will play third. Whether that is for the Mets or somebody else depends more on David Wright than on him.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 A hot start. Will put new shirseys on the backs of roughly 60% of Metdom's working-class whiteys.Strained MCL from vigorous morning oatmeal consumption puts him out for the year in July.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Decent player, honest to gosh darn goodness and hard work won't be enough though as he and Tajada struggle as a combo.....I see tough times ahead.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I see a Luis Aparicio/ Nellie Fox keystone combo in Tejada/ Murphy. They'll play together for many years, and lead the Mets to at least one World CHampionship.Tejada will flash the glove and have a higher OBP than Luis, but with far fewer steals.Dan'l will hit (and, unfortunately, run) like Nellie, but with much more extra base power. So let it be written. So let it be done.Seriously, I'm buying in on Murphy. .315 avg, with 50+ XBH.Later
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I'm penciling him in for 10 homers and 55 MRI's.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 that there is funny stuff, i tell ya.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 .298/.355/.450 13 HR, 98 runs, plays an okay second base.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Most likely to crash straight through the outfield wall Rodney McCray style, leaving a gaping hole of his silhouette in the wall, just like it would happen in any Road Runner or Itchy & Scratchy cartoon. In fact, I'm surprised Murph hasn't done this already.
