What's better than sitting at Citi Field during a day game next to a MFY fan? Sitting next to a MFY fan at Citi Field during a night game. They've had all day to drink and be even more obnoxious! That's what you'll have when the Mets play the MFYs on June 24 as ESPN has moved the game to 8:05.

Saturday night (6/23)--FOX; Sunday night (6/24)--ESPN. Two big games for Mets fans and GKR (and Guys!) won't call them.

You're tied with me, too.

Three-way tie. Have been to a Mariners game, though.

Cooby & I, as non-locals, make up for your local non-attendance.

Make it four. And I still have 4 rain checks* I need to use before August 3.

*meaning four tix I'll use at one game

I'm making my debut on Tuesday at Nationals Park. Visitor gets a cut of my expenses for the David Wright fund. Thank you for strongarming me, Jeff Wilpon.

Does he think the Mets rerun their Friday night episodes incessantly the way HBO rerun his?

On the other hand, neither game is on WPIX, so they will both be watched at the Fman household. Prime time games are better for me anyway, I am a 1:10 napper.

If the Mets sucked, this wouldn't happen this often... now the July 1 game @ LA has been [crossout:2qs9p3ms]moved to[/crossout:2qs9p3ms] scheduled for 8:05.

In fairness, a 5:00 start (game is in Los Angeles) is actually a quite civilized time for a game on a Sunday.

'moved' is the wrong word since it's TBA on my schedule anyway.

Luckily they have an off day the next day.

is it? I'd much rather an 8pm game. 5pm I might still be doing weekend things, by 8 it's much more likely I'm home and done with whatever I had planned and can sit and watch the game.

well I was just being silly. It's the only Sunday TBA on my entire schedule that I printed preseason though. Probably was all but officially an ESPN game.

So long as it doesn't cause me a 2-hour trip home on a Sunday night, I'm fine with 8 pm games from the comfort of my living room.

You have missed the point (and the thread title). 5:00 on Sunday is a nice time for the game to start if you are attending the game.

D-Dad and I have two extra tickets for next Sunday night's Mets 50th Anniversary celebration at the 92nd Street Y. We're selling them at face value - $37 apiece. PLMK if you'd like to attend with us!

This is from an e-mail survey I just got from the Mets:

The Mets are considering adding a designated "quiet" seating section with lower volume PA Announcements and no music or cheerleading. The seating section would be located in the Left Field Landing.

How likely would you be to purchase tickets in that section?

Please assume all game days and start times would work with your personal schedule. Note: This is hypothetical concept that the Mets have not committed to; you are evaluating the concept for research purposes only.

The Mets are considering designating one weekday game each week for a "throwback" ballpark experience with live organ instead of recorded music and fewer PA Announcements.

How likely would you be to attend games on the Throwback day?

cool on the organ music, although I feel like they ask that a lot.

I'm curious though, can they not just add more organ music anyway? Do the amount of PA announcements and between inning ads/games/giveaways just take up too much of the time?

a quiet section would be an excellent thing for minimm, as he is no big fan of loud noises. if such a thing were offered, i would buy tickets to a game to sit there. i do not know that it would make me more likely to attend a game, but if i were to attend a game, i would attend it in that section.

i would also attempt to synchronize it with a throwback day.

You know, it would be easy to laugh at such a survey but good for them for engaging us.Like the second one a lot.

Little Solo and I will be using some rain checks from last August on Friday night. How could I not? The Reds! Japanese night! REO Speedwagon! It's Fan-tastic!

Then my daughter and I will catch the Orioles on Tuesday night, also using rain checks from last year.

I like the idea of more quiet. I prefer the noise to come from the fans, not from the speakers. I often forget how relatively peaceful Shea used to be when I first attended games there in the early 1970's. (The Mets Yearbook series on SNY serves as a reminder.)
