Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Wright played the whole game at DH on Sunday, and went 2-4 with a double, a run scored, an RBI, and reached on an error.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Meanwhile Jose Reyes played 6 innings for the Cyclones this afternoon going 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored and fielded his only chance cleanly. Why wait for tomorrow to activate him? Bring him up for tonight's game I say.

Sneak him onto the roster, then have Turner or someone play short in the top of the 1st. Then..."Pinch-hitting, for the Mets..."/crowd grumbles confusedly"#7..."/dull roar"Jose..."/loud roar"Reyes!"/a roar that would make Shea blush

(Super-advanced-I hate-sitting-in-traffic route: Ocean Avenue - Empire Boulevard - E. New York Avenue - Jackie Robinson Parkway - Grand Central).
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 OH MY GAWD! WALKING DOWN FROM FRED'S BAWX IS JOSE REYES!

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 You don't really think that Fred's gonna pay for that, do you? (I would have recommended helicopter).

I mean, you think they completely ignored the giant pink elephant in the room?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Three for six tonight, three singles. According to hair-impaired play by play artisan Gary Cohen, the plan is for him to play all 9 innings in FL the next three days and be activated Friday, barring any setback.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 The lineup I want (nay, demand) tomorrow:1. Reyes, ss2. Wright, 3b3. Beltran, rf4. Reyes, 2b5. Wright, 1b6. Beltan, cf7. Reyes, p8. Wright, c9. Beltran, lf

I know he wants to get his timing down but after watching tonight, the current players on the team don't have their timing down. For the first time this year, the team is flat. Bring Jose and David back tomorrow and light a fire.

Maybe we can spot Murphy an AB there? or Turner?

Beltran, lfMaybe you're onto something. If a player suffers from multiple personality disorder, can they bat more than once in the lineup?Hey, Commish, we need a ruling here.(Maybe they can fake some medical records here)Later
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Maybe I can help with that lineup??
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Wright should have hit this well his first time through the Florida State League. He went 2-4 with a double yesterday and sits at .421 /.522 / .579 // 1.101 through five games. (The real story yesterday was eight brilliant innings from Kyle Allen.)The Mets are aiming at the weekend with him. I guess maybe he gets some AAA time before then.

And with how he's hitting e ven Gary mentioned bringing him back earlier, but if he's not on his way here already either, seems silly to fly him all the way north for one game.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 The St. Lucies finish up a four-game sweep of the Clearwater Threshers (I don't feel threshed) with a 5-2 victory behind the arm of Scott Moviel and the big bat of Cory Vaughn. Our bushy-browed boy DH'd and went 2-2 with two walks and a run scored. Yeah, I think he's put A-ball behind him.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
