Never seen him wearing the gear, and he supposedly pushed for the show characters-- save "Johnny Drama"-- to be diehard Yankee fans, once the issue of hitting a ballgame came up in a show script.I think I've heard that too. Maybe he pushed for his character to be a Yankee fan because he wanted to show some jerkish tendency that he feels that "E" has? Or maybe he's suddenly a long-time Mets fan because he sees a shot at being something of an insider. Who knows?

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I saw that in the Daily News this morning and was wondering if he was undercover, or if the Suffolk County police force have adopted Mets road jerseys as their official uniforms.Either way... good choice! And, not insignificantly, I'm glad they nailed that creep.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Looks like they did more than nail him.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 One account of that guy and the robbery/slaying talked about what a huge Islander fan he was.Bet they were happy to hear that.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Excerpt from the Post story about the murderer (David Laffer) and his wife:After a four-year courtship, he proposed to Melinda Brady, a secretary, at an Islander game in 2006 -- by popping the question on the Nassau Coliseum's Jumbotron screen. It read, "Melinda, will you marry me. Love, David."

NotMetly. He grew up in Oakland and was a fan of the Athletics. I remember when he went on a baseball road trip w/Ron Howard and others. Since they have a few bucks, they did the trip the way you'd want to: they rented a bus and hired a driver.
