Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 NICE DP there to keep it at 3-2, Huff stabs the line drive and doubles off the runner. Good stuff, let's get into that soft underbelly of a Phillies bullpen.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Holy shit, this woman singing "God Bless America" has Decatur, Illinois on top of her fucking head. She can belt it though.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The weird thing is, I was SO close to wearing MY neckbreaking city-diorama hat tonight. Wouldn't I have been embarrassed!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Wow, a pitching change with Chase Utley coming up. You don't see that every day.Oh, wait, you do.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Cody Ross really screwed this game for the Giants.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Second atdhe.net feed is Fox En Espanol, almost perfectly synced, somehow, to ESPN Radio.Or I could listen in Spanish.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Ay caramba! Los Phillies don't lose.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I'm not as invested in this one - rooting wise anyway - as I am in the AL series so the Philly win tonight just guarantees us NL playoff baseball into the weekend and I'm OK with that. The AL series, on the other hand, needs to end ASAP. I want a Texas lead so big by the 2nd inning that the Yanx forfeit rather than sustain the embarrassment.

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Lee v. Halladay, game one at CBP Wednesday night?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 As long as it's Lee vs somebody, somewhere I'm OK with it.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Halladay has a pulled groin, hopefully his own.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Game 6 of this series is sked for 3:30 Sat afternoon on FOX with the AL game at night ... but if this AL series ends tonight, are they going to pull one of those deals were they switch this to the night-time slot instead?Just trying to plan my busy life.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Yes, they will move it to the night slot if/when the MFYs go home.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 OK, now I'm all in on San FranWas hedging my bets thinking that Philly might be better anti-MFY venom but now that excuse it OUTTA HERE
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 The good news: The MFYs lose...THUUUUUUHHHHHH MFYs LOSE!The bad news: I may have just watched my last baseball game of 2010 on good, old regular television.Go Giants, wherever I have to find you.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Was that a bench-clearing brawl before they cut to commercials?
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Unable to watch...how bad was Sanchez that he was lifted in a 2-2 game?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I missed the altercation too. Whappen?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Nonstarter. Verbal slapfight between Sanchez and Utley after some post-HBP weirdness (Sanchez hit him after walking La Cabeza Grande; ball bounced in front of Utley as he ran to first; Utley scooped it and tossed it to Sanchez; Sanchez got pissy and Utley got dismissive and cursed at him). Sanchez gave way-- by Bochy fiat, not umpire decision-- to Affeldt, who worked his way out of the two-on, nobody-out dilemma left him.Turning out to look pretty prescient on Bochy's part.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 The Phillies have the bases loaded with 2 outs and Victirino at the plate. Shut 'em down!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Whew! Weak tapper to the mound.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 For those of you that can't see the game on FOX, you've missed seeing the Direct TV commercial (Direct TV is owned by FOX Corp.) of the guy shooting a dart into the neck of the movie operator... about a bazillion times.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 "Just a disgusting display of the shadiness that ensues from "vertical integration" with these big telecommunications conglomerates, and another example of FOX putting the dollar way ahead of-- oh, wait, I only get fake-righteously-indignant when a guy pretends to pull his pants down after scoring a big touchdown. Never mind."
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 anybody else ever notice how uncomfortably close those two get at the open of the game? it's just plain icky.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I'd imagine at least half of Buck's wooden demeanor is due to his attempting to simultaneously call the game and hold his breath to avoid Tim's old-man/Bryllcream-y smell. In game action... a cheeky/cheap Renteria attempt to sell a "HBP" (really, a foul tip) is futile, and he ends up grounding into a funkily-turned 4-3 DP to end the inning/rally.Fun, tight game so far, really.
