Reds. As easy as the Minnesota-MFY series. For this one, I have nothing against the Reds to prevent me from rooting for them to win (unless Pete Rose has returned) instead of just rooting for the MFPs to lose.

Zvon: I bet you are.

Reds, they will definitely be underdogs considering the Phils ought to be throwing their top 3 only.

Reds. We have a good friend who is a lifelong Reds fan.

lol.
I just think that will be the most exciting series and I think the Phils have the upper hand.
So people here don't want the Yankees in the series just cause it gives them a chance to possibly win another?

I wouldn't mind the Reds, in an underdogish kinda way. But the Phils right now have the best team to rep the N.L., imo.

Am I the only one who wants a PhuckinPhilly/NYSkankee WS here?

Why do you hate the World Series?

I love the WS! I'm almost as big a fan of the WS than I am of the Mets. I might even have to say equally as big since the Mets are usually not in the big show and I sill love watching it. For the historical significance.

I voted Reds, but I think the Phillies would be the best possible National League World Series representative.
'Tis a quandry.

Would I be correct in assuming that you don't get to too many Mets games in person? And that you don't live in New York City?

Any additional Philadelphia success simply makes their moron fans that much more unbearable, whether the game is at Shea or in Philly.
Any additional Yankees success makes their fans that much more unbearable and unfortunately there are millions of them in this area.

It's not that I don't want these two teams in the World Series; I don't want them to have winning records. For the next 15 years.

I'm hoping for reincarnation of the Big Red Machine of my youth.

Yes and yes(or no). Grew up in Queens. Now I live in South Jersey.

I live in Phils country. Most of my friends are Phils fans. I just tell em to their face they are assholes. After a few years they take no offense and they avoid the subject of the Phils around me. My best friend growing up in NYC is a huge Yankee fan (he also was when they sucked so I tip my hat to him, he's a real fan). His name is Mike.

Mike, you suck.

This is perfectly acceptable too, maybe more so, with the Mets winning 100 and making the big show every year.
But we are not there and they are. I make the best of it.
Bottom line, I wanna see the best baseball possible.

I'm tempted to photoshop him being picked up at the plate how he looks now.

These teams are all very good, and all can play great for stretches.

You can get a great series without summoning dark forces to your Fall Classic.

Any team that has Tom Seaver in its Hall of Fame gets my vote!

The preference was easy, of course, but the reality is Halladay-Hamels-Oswalt. However, 17 years ago, the reality was Maddux-Glaine-Smoltz and the Braves were shocked...by an upstart Phillies team.

Turnabout, I hope.

You'll need to photoshop a crane to move him, because there is no way J.T. Snow or any other normal human being would be able to pick him up now.

Just in case anybody's confused, I don' tknow who that guy is, but that kid can't be older than 11 or so now.

Spoil sport. You are of course correct, since Darren Baker was three and a half years old when J.T. Snow grabbed him up and carted him out of harms way in late October of 2002.

Good thing I read this entire thread.

One of my son's best friends lived in SF when Dusty managed the Giants and this kid went to school with Dusty's kid and became friends with him.

I was just about to email that pic to my son saying 'show this to Ross and tell him this what Darren Baker looks like now...'.

Sure, I thought 'that kid does look a little older than 13 but my Cranepool peeps wouldn't steer me wrong...'
