the remaining games:
Will Takahashi and Niese win their 10th games.
Will Duda get his average over .250.
Will the Mets finish at .500.
Will Bay return for a few games.
Will Davis break Straw's team record for RBI by a rookie.
I'm a masochist.

I wrote a post a week or two ago with this premise, which i'm sure you could click through and find if you really wanted.

See if Beltran gets into a nice groove.
Wright and Reyes continue to set team milestone records cementing their place as some of the greatest Mets ever. When the Mets were eliminated in say 1989, or 1984...did you watch Strawberry and Gooden? Would you watch a Seaver start in '71 after they were eliminated?
I'm enjoying watching Ike and Duda. Particularly Ike who it'd be nice to see finish strong and give you the impression that next year will be a big improvement. I'd like to see Evans more, but the Mets decided to let Manuel play out the stretch so.
Other sporadic rookies are fun to watch too.

I have to confess, there's nothing at all that's motivating me to watch. I left for Europe on August 19, and returned on September 4, and I haven't actually "watched" a game since before my departure. Since I came back, I had one weekday day game on as background noise on a day that I was working at home, but that's it. It's been well over a month since I've heard the voices of Gary or Keith or Ron. (The one game I had on was the opposing team's telecast.)

I've still been paying attention, but I'm more disconnected from the Mets than I've been in many years.

I hope they have some kind of inspiring offseason.

Little Solo, bless his 7-year old heart, really wants the Mets to finish in 3rd place.
"That's good for the Mets, right dad?" So, yeah, we're watching, at least a little bit of each game.

Fucking Jennifer Lopez and fucking Steven Tyler! That's some weird-tasting judge sauce, there!

Oh, the Mets, y'mean? Yeah, I'll go with nothing but habit and masochism.

This and watching further baseball means enduring FOX and all the BS that goes in to their broadcast.

I'll admit, I've been pretty bad about watching the Mets since the calendar turned to September. I've caught a couple of glimpses to check out the youngsters, but I've definitely seen more NFL games this month than Mets games.

I'm probably with Grimm...I may tune in a couple more times this season if I'm bored, but I'll more likely see the boys again in spring.

I'll be at four games next week.

Suckitude or not, I still want to get as much Mets baseball as I can before it's gone for the winter.

I'm going on Wednesday and Saturday of next week. I'll be missing them greatly as the calendar gets deeper into October with the realization that it is a long, long way to April 1.

R.A. Dickey needs to pitch 1.2 more innings to ensure he will be eligible to be listed among the ERA leaders for 2010. He is currently 10th, 0.01 ahead of Cole Hamels, 0.06 ahead of Clayton Kershaw and 0.02 behind Roy Oswalt. We miss Oswalt but it's Dickey vs. Hamels Saturday with Craig Swan Award implications.

I'm watching and hoping the Mets win the game. Or that Jerry Manuel spontaneously combusts and then decides to start hugging Luis Castillo while aflame.

The paint has dried in the living room and with the record heat and summer long drought my grass has wilted, so I don't have anything better to watch.

That's pretty much where I'm at too.
There's still stuff to see and (as anyone who read my comments in Tuesday's IGT can see) I still care if they win.

LGM!

Happy to do so, except it's us at the other park named for a bank, which will make it maybe worse, given the braying red-clad multitudes (and whichever 2,000 Mets fans who thought this would be a swell weekend to make the trip to Philly to see their beloved team).

LGM anyway!

You are correct...this is what happens when I tune out mid-September.

Well, still, no clinching vs. the Mets.

On edit: Say, hey! I'm Willie Mays!

Does everyone else refuse to use a Citizen's Bank ATM when they're out and about and need cash?

Personally, I'm waiting to see Carlos Beltran remove his leg brace in center field to the strains of Jerry Lewis singing "You'll Never Walk Alone".

And then a big tote board appears on the scoreboard telling us exactly how much Fred Wilpon lost in the Madoff scam.

I'd like to see Gary, Keith and Ron do the play-by-play on THAT.

Otherwise, the only thing worth watching are Dickey's starts.

Joining at the tail end of THIS season, with a demi-tasteless Labor Day Telethon joke? What's wrong with you, Specialist? And why haven't you been here longer?

Welcome abordick, indeed.
