Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Its so ridiculous whats going on there. Ollie acts like a spiteful, spoiled lil kid. So the Mets treat him spitefully.I don't see how this is helping anything. It's not like Perez is gonna learn a lesson from this[/quote:2vg1nbiq]It's not like the Mets are going to learn a lesson from it either.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 in what way are the Nationals a weaker opponent. The Mets are a disgrave[/quote:1gwwxf46]I have not tuned in to one inning of the Mets since before the Cubs series, not boasting or anything but they are putrid.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Been radio only myself when I can tune in, and found i've been way more 'normal' and way less depressed & mopey. I have no idea what Hessman, Duda, or Luis Hernandez look like, and I'm OK with that. Go Mets! And if you don't, then I will, to the beach.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I can't believe that I spent money to watch that game. I think it was the first game in many years where I left early (bottom of the 7th--could have gone in the 5th). Nice assemblage of Mets fans but Jerry doesn't play his best guys, sitting Beltran today; Wright tries to steal down 3, and Jerry does a lefty/righty PH in the 5th. Yes, in the 5th inning (Evans for Carter who had a double in the game)! The pitching stinks, everything about them stinks. And yet, I going back tomorrow.
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The blame for this game doesn't go to Jerry, or the bullpen, or even the non-existent offence. No, the blame for this stinker sits squarely on the shoulders of the thread originator for the subject line used. All sorts of bad karma were created because of it, like the mets needed any help in that regard.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I agree with dgw: Riggleman printed it and put in on the bulletin board in the Nationals clubhouse.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 When Mrs. Fafif was apprised of the final score, she pinned it on an unholy alliance of which I was not previously aware:"The Nationals were getting even with the Mets for what they did to the Cubs yesterday."

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The traditional Mets-go-down-in-flames-leads-to-intra-forum-flaming season begins! The RLF should be exciting.

Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I was watching this game on my phone at MFY Stadium III (I know, I have sinned) watching the O's spank the MFY while being advised by MFY fans to "stick to Aussie Rules" (what a bunch of ****s those people are, but we already know that). Anyhow, back to Mets, who here would swap this current Mets team for the Nats team?I would.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I'm afraid we've got to get out of this the hard way.I can swap the Mets for the Nats any time, but it's no question for me, really.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 You can show me the Aorta commercial every day and twice on Sunday as long as I never have to see the "Derek Jeter? That guy's got an Edge" commercial againI also prefer the Aorta commercial to the Emblem Health lady: "C'mon ladies, let's keep it up! And 1! and 2!"
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Sadly, a Jeter "Edge" ad reappeared last week.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Somewhere along the way, Ford inserted a Chyron graphic to identify "DAVID WRIGHT NEW YORK METS" when the window rolls down on his Lincoln and he announces, "The game has officially been changed." David not recognizable enough to a New York audience after six seasons? They only seem to run them during Mets games anyway.
