Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I met Feller when he was autographing his autobiography at Macy's Herald Square some time in the early 90's. I agree - he may be gruff, but he's a class act.The game is tied thanks to some entertaining Indian misfielding. I'll take it.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 2-run homer for Isaac Benjamin! WTG Ike!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 What if Jason Donald had been named "Donald"?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I've been fooled on at least half of Ike's HRs this year. It looks like he got under it or just missed it and they go out anyway. And now, Ike, wasn't that a lot better than the bunt?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 In light of the recent ESPN umpire survey we need to send out a CB Bucknor alert. He has 1B tonight which means he'll have the plate tomorrow.Tonight, as Johan made the most obvious balk move in memory, the home & 2nd base umps were all over it immediately. Bucknor, the guy with theoretically the best view on that type of step-balk, never even flinched.

Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Freakin' Frankie ... it's always drama time
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 K-Rod decides to make it interesting by giving up a 2-out, 2-run homer before getting the final out. Whew!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I was going to come in and say fuck you Shelly amd then he hits a bomb....still , fuck you Shelly
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 The producers of tonight's Met game would like to thank the Cleveland infield, without their efforts the win would not have been possible.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 He should only get 1/2 a save lol[/quote:34frakm5]He shouldn't get a good seat on the bus ride back to the hotel. Games like this just show how worthless a stat the save is in my view.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 In further good news, Tampa dropped 4 on the Braves in the first inning.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 So. How much longer is K-Rod under contract?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Geez we really came close to losing that game a few times. Sounded like strike 3 to the batter before Shelly was a close call too, or that meatbag woulda tied it.That you Reyes for ignoring that stop sign, and Bucknor for the call at first. One nice thing this year is we're not getting out-defenced most nights, this was one where that made a big difference.

Santana was vapid. So, Its' a nice win.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Nice read, nice win, glad I didn't follow the 9th live.Reyes makin things happen.Wright bustin it up the line.I love Ike, man.If Santana is hurtin, after the way he was keepin it mum last time, I hope the Mets know to check him out whether he wants it or not.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Watched the latter half of this game while at Spa Castle with BetterHalfer and YoungerPooper (I had a neck thing today). The last couple of innings, I caught in the locker room, surrounded by nude fat men flopping in and out of the hot tubs. Between that and K-Rod, it was not the most relaxing of times.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Rays pound Braves 10-4 (good buddy). Mets only a half-game from first and tied in the loss column. Rest assured if they were tied in the win column, that would be emphasized.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
