For us, it means seeing the Mets in HD as the Nationals-Pirates game on MLB Network is blacked out so they have the SNY feed here.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 WOW...I know it's only two innings but this kid has some stuff, electric watch, the ump seems to be getting caught up in the hype with his over the top strike three antics. Throughly enjoying the MLB Network crew too.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 4-2 Nats in the 6th.11k's for the kid so far.Has tossed 81 pitches
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 That's it, he's done after 7.Nice show kid.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 WOW.[/bigpurple]No pitcher in the history of the game has K'd 14 with only 94 pitches.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I wanted so desperately for the kid to get lit up. We'll see what happens next time out when he faces major league hitters.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 FOX added the 6/19 Nationals game v. White Sox.If the Nationals stay in rotation despite days off, the Mets will miss Strasburg July 1-4.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 They just said something about not since 1900 but I missed it.The Yankees will find a way to get him before the deadline.

I'm sure he'll call the Schmoozer tonight to propose a Teixeira-for-Strasburg deal.

Yanqui fans, you see, are unaware of minor technicalities like 6-year rules for FA eligibility since they think the only purpose of those minor teams is to find and provide the Bronx with players. When informed that Strasburg won't be a FA until after the 2017 season THEN he'll propose Teixeira as trade bait ... but only after the host turns down his offer of Nick Johnson.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 In other NL East news, the Phils got their hitting shoes on tonight ... but are losing to the Fish 8-7 in the 8thMike Stanton in his debut: K, FO, 2 singles (one IF, one OF)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Hey, keep in mind folks... it was the Pirates.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 2 outs in the 9th in Philly10-8 Phils -- Lidge puts two on base -- Mike Stanton up
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Infield single by Stanton and they're loaded up for Paulino
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Paulino pops out and the Phils win - so no passing them tonight.Does put some more ground between us and the fishies though so it's not all bad.Atlanta out west again.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Catching some of the highlights now. Granted, it was such notables as Neil Walker and the former Blastings, but Strasburg just made them look worse than the collegians he faced last year. That fastball's got some giddy-up, no?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I'm going to hate this guy as a divisional rival, but my eyes grew mysteriously moist as he struck out batters 12, 13 and 14. What's that about?

Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I just watched the highlights of this guy pitching. . . the amount of movement he was getting on that 101 mph fastball is scary.

The way he got stronger as the game went on. Seven K's to close out his last seven batters. If that hack Riggleman had left him in, I wonder if Tom's record of 10 would have been safe.It was beautiful, no matter how much dread he inspires in the practical long term.
