DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Put me down on the JCL juicing bandwagon.I think he was a sham. I remember after the M's signed him to a big contract, there was a press conference and he wouldn't put the team hat on (his Nike one? sure. His team one, not so much)...some rep had to hold one if front of the podium while he addressed the media. Stay classy, Kid.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I don't think we should start turning this into a witch hunt and make unfounded accusations of juicing, but I don't think we should simply label someone as "clean" because he smiles a lot and broke down.I imagine if Pettite didn't shop up on the Mitchell Report, he would be one of those guys you could bet your life was as clean as a whistle.

Guy is clearly juicing. You would say that, Snoopy at the bat.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I'll remember him as clean.I'll always say when I tell stories of these days that he may have been the only clean player to rise to such heights. This kid was blessed, we all knew it.All he knew was that he was being payed to play the game he loved.I imagine that the perfect blunder yesterday taking the headlines made him smile, like so many things did.A pleasure and honor seeing you play Mr. Griffey Jr.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 He's clean as the driven snow....says Ken Rosenthal...http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/Ken-Griffey-Jr-will-be-remembered-for-playing-clean-it reads as almost more hopeful than anything else.
