Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Actually, Cora not Castillo. incorrectly tweeted.Cora's played 33% of the games in the last nine (don't remember before that)that's too much, especially considering there was an off day in between them, and another one tomorrow. Cora should just flat out not be in there today, unless Castillo's been nursing something we don't know about.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Agreed...this is the B lineup, and while I can understand Blanco, Matthews and Cora piss me off. Matthews more than Cora.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I understand the B lineup/day game after night game type attitude. But there is a day off tomorrow and no reason for GMJ to be in there unless it's like a "Go 3/4 or you're cut" type deal.
Guest attgig Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 i hate cora batting second. let's give up an out right at the top of the order.... geez.and if GMJ is in there, the rest of the lineup should be your regulars to pick up his slack. but he shouldn't be there in the first place.
Guest attgig Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 oh, and this thread needs to go to the second page, cuz that pic is borderline nsfw....
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Oh come on. Melissa Etheridge is not that ugly.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 She's a handsome woman.Hell, I kinda hate batting GMJ 7th at this point-- we're getting better strike-zone control out of Blanco so far. Work your way out of the eight hole, Mr. I-Came-to-Start.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I hope Junior goes on a job-saving rampage today. He's gotta have a good game sooner or later.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Castillo, including off days, will have started 4/9 games. Is he still nursing some kind of injury? It doesn't appear like it from his play. I can't get past this. It's not like Cora's smacking the ball around (or should be hitting second) Supposedly Manuel just wanted Cora. I think I'm going to have to break something now. lunch time..
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 They're treating Castillo like they might a veteran catcher, and given how he's had troublesome knees and looks like he's limping half the time, I got no problem with it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Mets start the game in Grand Dragon fashion: K - K - KStuff like that tends to happen when your top three have sub-.300 OBPs(OK, Pagan was at .301 prior to his K, but you get the picture)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Ugly strike-'em-out (Davis)/throw-'em-out (Wright) ends the Mets second.Meanwhile, undead Miguel Cairo's single makes the second infield hit in two innings for your Rojitos.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Base hit for GMJ. Nicely done. I smell some serious sacrifice bunting coming up, and I couldn't be happier.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Sargelet leadoff single brings his average to a simmering .154. Why, that's almost Pelf-level hitting!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Hey, love it while you can, baby.Me? I'm in the CoraZone.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 So, we're supposed to root for those guys to be up in that sort of situation, right?A lead's a lead, I suppose.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I know, right? Matthews, Blanco, Pagan, and Cora carry their weight in a rally, but Reyes and Bay not.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Either something's funky with the Gameday strikezone, or Sam Holbrook is umping with the eye of an older Hal Holbrook.Niese kills some worms, and is out of the third 1-2-3.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 The problem with Reyes's & Bay's fly outs is that they came in the wrong order.Bay's could have gotten a run in but there were already two out by that point. Reyes was the guy up with one out but his was far too shallow and with Bruce throwing and Blanco running the tag out would have been closer to 3rd than to home.
