Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Edgy's award of 4.51 for Valdes, in a performance where the pitcher gave up three earned runs in three innings, precludes him from ever criticizing anyone else's voting.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Let me clarify - it precludes you from criticizing anyone else's voting with any shred of credibility.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Oh, bullshit. I post in a thread marked "Schaefer voting discussion" trying to discuss Schaefer voting, and I'm beneath responding to because I'm some sort of bully for doing what the thread title invites me to do. I insult nobody, and put up with all sorts of insults and deliberate twisted misreadings of my posts. I apologize like nobody's business for ridulously meaningless infractions of etiquette that get blown out of proportion. Because somehow to discuss voting is different from any other discussion. (I never knew.) Somehow, discussing somebody's vote is a personal insult. But I never insulted anybody, and apologized even as I endured numerous insults, and twisted distortions of my clear meaning. So whatever, I don't care. It's not worth it. I resolved to never post in that thread again. But now I have to endure more of this? That's nonsense. All I did was vote.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 All any of us have ever done is vote. And you're entitled to your vote. As are the rest of us. 4.51 points to a reliever who gave up three runs is pretty unorthodox. Which doesn't mean that you're not entitled to award the performance that way. But it's an award that goes way beyond the performance, IMO. Which affects how seriously I'm going to consider your judgment about voting matters. You're certainly entitled to vote as you wish; just don't judge others whose votes don't meet your individual criteria.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 All any of us have ever done is vote. No, actually, that's completely untrue. You mysteriously woke up in the morning and, without provocation, decided to dump on me. just don't judge others whose votes don't meet your individual criteria.OK, lets' be very clear (as I continue to try to be). I didn't judge anybody. I haven't judged anybody. You have.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Please don't be coy. There's been nothing respectful about it.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Excuse me - I am not being coy, and I have not said anything disrespectful in this discussion. Nor have I sworn at anyone. You may disagree with what I am saying, but I have not been disrespectful here.I pointed out that you made an unorthodox point award. I also defended your right to do it.I do disagree about your acting judgmentally about other posters' points awards in the past. Whether you intended to come off as judgmental or not, you did. If this is dumping on you, then I'm dumping on you, but I honestly don't see that it is.I am making a point - we all vote as we see fit, and we all have a right to. I have perceived in the past that you judge others negatively when they don't vote in accordance with your wishes. If I'm wrong about that, then I apologize. But think about how you characterize other people when they don't see something the way that you do. In this thread alone you have sworn at me, called me disrespectful, and accused me of being coy. I have simply stated a position. You are free to disagree with it. But the characterizations that you have jumped to as a result of that disagreement are off base.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 If, in discussing voting, I ever ever wrote anything as deliberately provocative and obnoxious as your first two posts, please find it and let me know. I pointed out that you made an unorthodox point award. This is just beyond reason. That's what you did? How do you respond when addressed that way? Do you say, "Oh, I guess somebody feels I've been unorthodox. That's cool."
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I will once again respectfully disagree with you on the first statement. I think you are overreacting to my posts.I usually respond that I vote according to my own system and that everyone is entitled to do the same.If you are perceiving this as being obnoxious and deliberately provocative, then I think you are reading way too much into this and/or taking this way too personally. I'll once again say that I posted out of a perception that you negatively judge others for their votes. I thought your vote for Valdes was over the top, and I pointed it out to make the point that we're all entitled to vote as we best see fit.
