Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Yes. It's even better when he goes into his whole act on flyouts.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 A quick search for Sterling home run callsBernie goes Boom!!!!An A bomb, for A-rod!!!!!!!!!!Alexander the great!!!!!!!!!Robbie Cano, dont ya know???!!!!!!!!!A Thrilla, for Godzilla!!!!!!!!!!And Robin becomes Batman!!!!!!!!!! Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Sterling represents some of the best evidence that Yankee fans are dumbass douchebags. When we had Fran, the consensus was that he sucked. Yankee fans LOVE Sterling.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I'm sure I'd cringe if I heard this person call Yankee HRs too. But I wouldn't care how badly a Mets announcer called the homers as long as he had plenty of opportunities to call them.At any rate, this thread made my day.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I love Sterling because I hate the MFYs and he's the kind of buffoon their fans deserve. Lots of good Sterling stuff on this here channelhttp://www.youtube.com/user/HartSeely#p/u

His game-calling is largely about him and the story he/the MFYs have decided upong, not about the actual game. He's unfunny, and he's kinda moralistic, and-- above all-- he's shtick-ier than Jackie Mason doing Henny Youngman jokes while waggling Groucho eyebrows and an exploding cigar. And of course, the pairing with Howie makes it better.
