Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 First real test for This is Spinal Tap, which has rolled to easy victories over, um, Spaceballs and (cough) Arthur. 'Princess' has taken out 48 Hrs and A Christmas Story. Ricky Smith Division Sweet 16:(2) This is Spinal Tap(6) The Princess Bride
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Wow. This is the finals for me. I honestly don't know.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Count Rugen vs. Nigel Tufnel. How does one choose?I'll have to think about it some.Curse the bracket committee for not sticking these in opposite draws.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 The Princess Bride. We just watched it again Saturday night. We were looking through the cable listings for something to watch with the boys, and MK suggested Princess Bride. As good as Spinal Tap is, it's never going to command my entire family's attention the way that Princess Bride does.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 This has been the toughest for me so far. . . but I think I have to go with spinal tap. I have seen it so many times and every time it gets me laughing.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Bride losing? Inconceivable!

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 A tough decision, as they must be in these final rounds. When I saw that Mandy Patinkin was performing in NY, the first thing I thought of was this movie. Nevertheless, I went with the movie that makes me laugh every time I see it.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Wow. Now THIS is a tough one.I gotta go with Wallace Shawn, Andre the Giant, and "My name is Inigo Montoya..." though.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Tough call, but I went for the Bride, which I think holds up better on repeated viewings.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 First Caddyshack loses to Tootsie, now Spinal Tap may get bounced by Princess Bride????To quote Frank Costanza on the feast of Festivus: "you people are disappointing the hell out of me!!!"
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Tap. This time it is by merit of their great appearance on "The Simpsons," and also the scene in the film where they all have herpes. That shit kills me.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I guess Fmeat wasn't consulted on that vote.Point of order: that scene wasn't in the film in the 1980s release, but only added for a latter day recut.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 i enjoyed BRIDE, but TAP created a comedic sub-genre. So, for me, when its a close call, i go with the film that had a more significant impact on the culture.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Which one would Rob Reiner pick?I went with Tap.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Tap wins, 16-12. Good game. Shake.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I didn't have the heart to vote.
