Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Hmm, looks like tix are available for other game with a green T icon.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Because the Mets are selling upper reserved seats to "selected" games ahead of time. General sales for all games begins Sunday 3/9.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 The 5/31 game probably works for me.I'm generally about the next few weeks so a ST lunch thing would probably also work.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 The May 31st game is slated for a cap giveaway (sponsored by Verizon) for the first 25,000 fans.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I think the CPF should sponsor a giveaway. How expensive could that be? A couple dozen thousand bucks?
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Mebbe we can get Johnny to let us have 25K free copies of his book for distribution?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 That would clst me 12.5K I don't have, no thanks.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Now that he's big and famous he's too good for the likes of us....
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 $0.50 a book? How come we didn't get offered that price?Cheap bastage.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I suck at math -- how ironic!$175K I mean
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I just assumed the 50 cents per book was what JD made after everyone else got their share.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Looking forward to 5/31, good luck to everyone getting tickets. We'll talk about tail-gaiting when it gets closer. If there's interest in a ST Manhattan meeting I guess I'll leave it for someoneelse to try and corral the troops. It also occurs to me that perhaps a Septembergame might be a good idea too for those who can't make May and it is the last freakin' year at Shea.We need camp counselors, not campers ... don't be bashful.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 How about Sunday, Sept. 14th, against the Braves? I can't plan on the 7th (it's my daughter's birthday), and the 30th is going to be a hard ticket to get, but the 14th should be reasonably available.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I'm ok with that unless it's the Jets home opener date. Not a big fan of trotting out to Shea on a Sunday night and Mets/Braves in September may very well end up being important enough for it to be moved.I said September, but the Sunday August games are probably ok with me too.

Guest Kong76 Guests Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Gw: >>>Who's in?<<<I'm probably good with that too.Silly story ... last time I was at the Zone my wife and her friend ran into Richard Thomas as we were approaching it. They were like, "you're, you're!"and he slowed to a near stop and replied "yes, I am!" and he kept on walking.Me and my friend got a kick out of them not asking for a phone picture or anautograph or at least giving him a, "good night John Boy" as he faded into thecrowd and all they could utter was, "you're, you're" to him.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Gosh - do half the people on this board even know who Richard Thomas is (was)? When The Waltons was at its height of popularity, my parents went out to dinner one night and returned home with a menu upon which Richard Thomas had affixed his autograph. They were thrilled to have met the then well-known TV star and my sister and I thought it was just the coolest.RE: ESPN Zone - Would love to, but stag time on weekends just ain't in the family plan for the past 11 and next 6-7 years.I do plan to be at that 5/31 game if that's still the plan.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 draft is 5:45 that day. i suppose you could find an internet cafe or something along those lines if you didnt live in manhattan AND were intent on doing both.

That being said, I'm sure there are scores of WiFi hot spots at various coffee shops and bookstores.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Funny how threads go, I'm sure Gw can make it home for the draft. Steve too if he plans on joining us. Good night, Erin - in my dreams back then.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I actually do live close enough to make it home, although given that I'm not in the CPF Fantasy League, I had no idea a draft was even taking place.New plan: Saturday, March 8. Same details as above. Mets vs. Marlins on Channel 11.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 So is it Sat 3/8 or Sun 3/16?I'm good either way, but I need to plan my office hours for the weekand if I'm working on Saturday.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I can't do the 8th, but I'm open on the 16th.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 i'm good either day. The draft on 3/16 isn't till 5:45pm and i could make it home by then.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 do you guys want me to check and see if the draft can be made a few hours later? this wasn't an option when i signed up but "better" draft timeshave opened up in past years after initial registration. bring it up in the fantasy baseball forum if this is a concern, i dont want to hijack this thread.
