While we're waiting for any news...here is the monthly trivia question for February from the Mets calendar hanging in my office:

No Mets player won the Rookie of the Year Award during the 1990's, but three of the 10 winners were later traded to the Mets. Who were they?

No peeking.

Beltran did win an AL ROY in the 90's, but he was acquired by the Mets via free agency. The question isn't terribly specific, but it is referring to NL ROY winners. The 3rd player was traded to the Mets.

you made me curious so i looked too. the question should read NATIONAL LEAGUE ROYs to eliminate Beltran and Sandy Alomar (1990.) whats the second mistake?

The third ROY was actually traded to the Mets and then traded away that same winter, without ever playing a game in a Mets uniform.

David Justice - 1990 NL ROY award winner and a Met for 7 days in December of 2001:

December 7, 2001: Traded by the New York Yankees to the New York Mets for Robin Ventura.

December 14, 2001: Traded by the New York Mets to the Oakland Athletics for Mark Guthrie and Tyler Yates.
