Guest mario25 Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Just signed up to the Cranepool forum and I am truly excited to be here. I am a life long Mets fan and will be leaving for Florida this Monday the 14th for Mets Fantasy Camp...I am thrilled
Guest sharpie Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 We're truly excited to have you here.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Very cool Mario, welcome abordick.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Tell Duffy Dyer, Al Luplow and Doug Saunders we said hello.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Welcome Mario. Tell us about yourself.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 This is a nice change - I can't remember the last time we had an actual new poster introduce themself (selves?).Usually our new registrants (strents?) are just Viagra hawkers.Nice to have you Mario, enjoy Fantasy Camp.I've often wonderd how they give you the uniform numbers at those things. Do they just ask you what number you want? I mean how many guys at one camp can be 41?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Fantasy camp! I would love to do that some day. Welcome!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Hey maybe you'll bump into Garth Brooks there, what players are going to be there, I assume Bucket is having a laugh.

Guest AG/DC Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Top Marios in Met history.1. Ramirez2. Diaz3. 25Ramirez and Diaz set the bar low enough that I think 25 can climb the ladder with a good fantasy camp performance.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Obligatory movie quote:"How many syllables, Mario? How many syllables?"Welcome to the board.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 If things go really well we may read that Mario was once an Expos prospect and Omar just signed him to a multi year deal.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Mama mia!(For what it's worth, I don't know that Donkey Kong is your traditional shortstop, but he probably has pretty good range. I do like Koopa on the mound, in the finest Wellsesque tradition.)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 By the way how many nationality's you been with?

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 YesWelcome to the asylum, Mario25. I hope you have a great experience at the Mets camp. I'm quite jealous. Look forward to seeing you online in the future.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Welcome, I think you'll find this a place to spend countless hours that you should be spending elsewhere.
Guest Mendoza Line Guests Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Cool. I'm no longer the new guy.Welcome to the board, and have a great time down at fantasy camp.
Guest mario25 Guests Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Thanks everyone for the kind words and I like the Mario picture someone sent. As far as Fantasy Camp is concerned they do ask you your favorite number ahead of time so there will be a lot of the same numbers running around. I am ecstatic that I get to meet my baseball hero willie montanez who was the Mets 1b when cable tv (wwor9) came to my city. I also am happy that Super Joe Mcewing is gonna be there as well as Swoboda,Grote,Stearns, Mcandrew and many others. Thanks again everyone and I am excited to be part of the Crane Pool forum.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I knew him as 'Willie Montan-YES!'
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Willie was one of the more enjoyable aspects of those dark days. He seemed like a great player, but only in comparison to the rest of those Mets teams of the late 70s. But he certainly got style points for his glove work.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Loved how he'd hold guys on constantly tagging them and making them return the base when no pickoff was ever thrown. He had mustard in his veins.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 someone cut out Mario batting to use as this guy's avatar
Guest mario25 Guests Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 The Mario avatar would be awesome!!! I am not the most computer savvy so unfortunately I do not know how to do it....
