Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Screw him, his steroids, and his suckiness. Good riddance, ya bum.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Damn good when he came over and had a steller playoffs, last year was horrid.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 I remember the time he "fought" Mike Piazza. Other than that, I have blanked the Mota-as-Met experience from my mind.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 My dad and I went to the game in September that Pedro pitched against the Phillies, in which the bullpen subsequently blew the lead. We sat way up in the nosebleeds and you couldn't tell what number anyone was wearing. At one point they made a pitching change and I guessed from the booing that it was Mota jogging in. I was right.I will remember the 2006 (regular season) Mota. That boy was good!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 If Willie had taken him out after walking Edmonds we'd have swept the Cardinals.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Mota after the trade deadline last season was a fantastic deal at the time.Time is a funny thing.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Do we even know who or what the Mets gave up to get Mota?I just looked it up in the 2007 Baseball Register and it said that the Mets got Mota for "a player to be named or cash."I don't recall them ever sending a player to Cleveland. Did they send cash? Or was he a complete freebie? If so, that IS a good deal.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Pedro stuck up for him which made me almost believe he was OK for a very short while.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Fuck that pussy. The one redeeming factor about not winning a title is that bitch won't get a ring that says "New York Mets". I wish Piazza had caught him.OE: Or Burnitz who comes flying out of the corner of the screen to almost catch him as he scurried down the dugout steps. I gotta find my tape of SC from the next day.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I always thought of the buzzkill it would have been had Mota's doping been uncovered in the wake of a championship.
