Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I'm surprised Reyes held out. I would have guessed he would be one of the ringleaders. I'm worried about Beltran's quad.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Yes,the only people who did not are Sele,Reyes,Willie and I guess Manuel, both trainers did it.

If they sit him out the next series then by the beginning of next week his leg should be fine. I have faith in the training staff evaluating his injury and deciding how best to treat it. If they think he can continue to play without a high risk of aggravating it then I suppose I'm good with that.Just the fact that he is playing, and playing productively, tells me that this injury is nowhere near the severity of the one he had in 2005.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Yeah. I was kind of surprised at Irish's "yes."

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Glavine on WFAN a little bit ago:FRANCESA: "So what is the reaction in the dugout after Bonds hits that homerun? Is everybody just amazed at what this guy can do and is doing?"GLAVINE: "I don't know Mike, I was on the mound."="Centerfield"]I'm surprised Reyes held out.Glavine said Reyes said he will do it.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Reyes was wishywashy in the Snooze today, saying he might do it on aan offday after the team returns to NY.I'm thinking about doing it myself as a sign of solidarity and boredom.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Starting to like Green a lot...seems to have a decent bit of humor in him.]SAN FRANCISCO -- It was the morning after the night before, and Shawn Green was suffering with hair hangover. The Mets right fielder, aka Shorn Green, was no more comfortable with his new and unwanted buzz cut Wednesday morning than he had been Tuesday night."I had to do it, right?" he asked, second-guessing his own submission to the powerful peer pressure that existed before the Tuesday trimming. "It's not very good, is it?"When Green returned to the team hotel Tuesday, his wife, Lindsay, had been forewarned. Her reaction: "A painful laugh," he said.By Wednesday morning, she had become more accustomed to the change. But she spoke some words her husband found ominous: "You look more European now. We'll have to change your wardrobe."And Green said, "She wasn't kidding."
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Where is the Wifey Watch thread? Do we have a picture of Lindsay Green?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I think Edgy had to discontinue Wifey Watch according to the terms of his probation.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 The thread is inactive. Lindsay Bear Green is something of a white whale for the Wifey Watchers.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Lively and intelligent discussion of the Mets, Ed Kranepool, and on a good day, Chris Woodward's wife, Erin.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Last I heard of Erin Woodward was trying to get backers for a show she was producing, sort of a Canadian Desperate Housewives.I'm relaunching the thread. The team is tricky. Too many guys are either younger and single, or old and married to an Intentionally Elusive Angel. We need to rebuild this thread the same way we cut "Don't Fear the Reaper," together.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Since nobody seems to have mentioned it, FK, kudos on the thread title.Later
