Ditto and Amen. "TCB" just grates on my nerves. I'll take Motown over that any day.

David Wright - several, including Fame, David Bowie

Oh please David,I hope the fans picked this one.

Are you sure it was ELO? Sources seem to indicate that these are David's 4 songs:

David Bowie - Fame
Cassie - Me and You
Big Pun - I'm Not a Player
Julez Santana - The Second Coming

Posted

That "Fame" isn't the one from the movie, is it?

"I wanna live forever..."

I pretty much NEVER notice any player's entrance music, but last year there was one significant exception: Carlos Beltran's El Esta Aqui. (I thought it was "Vanis Takee.")

Beltran was so hot at one point last year that whenever there were runners on base and I'd hear "Vanis Takee" I'd feel a surge of anticipation.

I would have known his at bat was next anyway, of course, but somehow that song became associated in my mind with big base hits.

I hope that happens again this year.

Pelfrey strolls up to the plate to Asia's Heat of the Moment

No wonder he strikes out on 3 pitches.

Updated 4/20. Pelfrey didn't use Heat of the Moment tonight. Maybe it was a one-time deal. He definetly had a song when he was warming up in the first but I couldn't catch what it was.

You lied to me Gwreck! They played that shite after the game Saturday in an effort to try to ruin my happiness.

Thanks Martin! Will add it to the list.

Willets, sorry, it seems like I Just Want to Celebrate was an Opening-Day-only song. Saturday was the only other win I've attended, but I understand TCB was used at the other wins too.

Thanks Martin for the contributions! Also have a second song for Heilman this year. Lots of yells at the Cowbell man during the playing of it tonight. Don't think he got it.

I came up with an idea a while back that the Mets (or any imaginative team) should have an in-stadium band that plays music much the way the organist was common in the past. It would be a way to get a contemporary sound into the ballpark without just spinning the the same old records played everywhere and it would be a unique promotion.

That's a good idea.

I came up with an idea a while back that ballparks should stop playing "Rock and Roll, Part II."

It amazes me that a convicted pedophiles music gets played anywhere.
