Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 Joe Smith definetly has a song used each time he comes out. I just can't figure out what it is. If you can help...please do!The only bigger mystery is the default "you-don't-have-a-song-so-we-use-this" song they use. It's been used for Gomez and Gotay both. I'd love to know what it is. It sounds suspiciously like 80s hair metal/arena rock. I don't know what it'll be but there's definetly a prize if you can help me figure out what it is.Damion Easley was rocking "Too Legit to Quit" by Hammer before one of his at-bats Friday night. Time will tell if this is a permanent thing or not.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Although he doesn't use it as entry music, Volare is played quite frequently during LoDuca's at bats.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Reyes is one of 3 players to use the song "Chacarron." The song is hilarious, huge hat tip to GYC for showing it to me.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 Thanks OO for the help!Chacarron is Reyes' 4th song, with This Is Why I'm Hot the s2nd song, and Walk It Out the 3rd. I think the first one is one of the reggateton beats created by Reyes himself (?).Perez is either changing up his music or perhaps letting the stadium change it up for him. Not sure, but it wasn't the Jacksons used on Tuesday.Carlos Gomez has music now too...still trying to ID that. I think all the relievers except Sele have music now too. Not 100% sure about Feliciano. The goal of getting everybody this year is getting a little closer.Entrance Music 2007StartersTom Glavine - Sweet Child O'Mine, Guns N Roses (Pitching)Tom Glavine - What You Gonna Do, Lil' Jon (Batting)John Maine - Seek and Destroy, Metallica (Batting)Chan Ho Park - Are You Gonna Go My Way, Lenny Kravitz (Pitching and Batting)Oliver Perez - Can You Feel It, The Jacksons (Pitching)RelieversAaron Heilman - London Calling, The Clash and Don't Fear the Reaper, Blue Oyster CultGuillermo Mota - I Like To Move It, Reel 2 RealScott Schoenweis - Megalomaniac, IncubusJoe Smith - So Cold, Breaking BenjaminBilly Wagner - Enter Sandman, MetallicaCPaul LoDuca - Stayin' Alive, Bee Gees; No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn, Beastie Boys; Rockit, Herbie HancockIFCarlos Delgado - Rompe, Daddy Yankee; Machete, Daddy Yankee; Dejale Caer To' El Peso, YomoJose Reyes - This Is Why I'm Hot, Mims; Walk It Out, DJ Unk; Chacarron, El Chombo; a reggaeton beat created by Reyes himself.Jose Valentin - Reggaeton Latino, Don Omar; Salio el Sol, Don OmarDavid Wright - Me and You, Cassie; Fame, David Bowie; The Second Coming, Julez Santana; I'm Not a Player, Big PunOFMoises Alou - Requests that no music be played.Carlos Beltran - El Esta Aqui, David y AbrahamShawn Green - Song 2, Blur; Be Yourself, AudioslaveBenchRamon Castro - Imperial March, John Williams and the London Philharmonic Orchestra (fr. the Star Wars Soundtrack)Damion Easley - Smack That, Akon; Too Legit to Quit, HammerJulio Franco - People Get Ready, Crystal LewisDavid Newhan - We Fly High, Jim Jones
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 Newhan has switched to Mo' Money, Mo' Problems by Notorious B.I.G.Any help on IDing Gomez' and Johnson's music would be much appreciated.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I thought I heard Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out" when Newhan came up last night. I also thought that it would be an unusual theme song for a ball player as it's a gay anthem--not that there's anything wrong with that!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Everything is a gay anthem. The real question is whether "Lights" was a personal Felicano song.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 ="bmfc1"]I thought I heard Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out" when Newhan came up last night. I also thought that it would be an unusual theme song for a ball player as it's a gay anthem--not that there's anything wrong with that!LOL, you're dating yourself. As GWreck noted, the song is Mo Money, Mo Problems by Biggie Smalls. It uses the beat from I'm Coming Out.Lots of rap/hip-hop these days uses beats from old songs. They call it sampling. Even though some of the songs come out good, I call it a lack of skill. Steal a beat and mumble some gibberish loosely in time with it and you've got a hit. (And I like Mo Money, Mo Problems, as well as some others)What was that line way back in season 2 (1?) that Christopher said when Hesh and the rapper got in a spat?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Elster88--HA! Thanks for the update. I'm not familiar with "Mo Money, Mo Problems" (although I am familiar with Willy Mo Pena and, sadly, Mo Vaughn). I know what "beats" are and what sampling is but to me, these "artists" should come up with their own music.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 LoDuca was using Smoke on the Water (Deep Purple) tonight. Carlos Beltran shook up his music ever-so-brielfy during the last homestand, but appears to have gone back to using his regular song for every at-bat (for the last home series before the ASB, it had only been used the first time up).Anyone know what Gotay and Milledge are using?

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Since the 2008 regular season has not yet begun, I have placed this Mets music related note, from today's [u:7be9e3fd1f]Newsday[/u:7be9e3fd1f], in the thread from 2007:Perhaps Smith someday can be like Heilman, who was approached by a Mets PR official who asked him which song he'd like played when he enters games at Shea this season. Heilman, who changed from The Clash's "London Calling" to "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes last season, didn't have an answer. "I'll have to think about that," he said. But he won't have to think about his role.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 Heilman has abandoned "Seven Nation Army" for "Paint it Black," btw.
