Let's see...Mets win, MFYs lose, our nearerst pursuer loses...

I'm pretty happy (though a deceptively venal friend suggested it would have been even better if the Braves had won on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to a vulnerable area of Mark Teixeira's anatomy).

I guess a failure to make the post-season makes it harder for the Braves to extend Texiera.

Well he's still theirs for 2008 and is young enough to want to build around after that.
This wasn't only just a stretch-run deal for them.

I know.

It just cuts into their revenue stream and they've shown in recent years an unwillingness to take on salary after a disappointing finish.
