They can wear the caps on 9/11 forever as far as I'm concerned. But they need to stop singing the godawful "God Bless America" NOW!!!

When, and how, are they going to stop doing the NYPD and FDNY caps?

You know they're not going to be doing it in 2075, so at some point it's going to stop. I guess they'll do it when they sense that few people will care. As we can tell by the outcry about Channel 7 originally deciding not to televise the reading of the names, that year hasn't arrived yet.

It's a touchy subject to say the least,I suppose they will wear the hats for the 10 year anniversary ,then the 15 year and 20,25 is important and so is 30....it might never end and really wearing the hats on the 11th is fine by me.

Or until nobody still living has firsthand memories of the day.

Anyway, tonight's Flushing weather forecast:

="National Weather Service"]Tonight: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and midnight. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 63. West wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

I predict they will play. Looking at the radar, those thunderstorms that are a possibility for tonight seem less likely.

Realized with nothing to do and no one to do it with on Sat afternoon that
Pedro is pitching and got a single mezz box ticket out in right field on mets
dot com just now.

I'm probably going to be looking at doing the same thing on Saturday.

Man, I miss those days.

I used to go to games spur of the moment by myself a lot.

3 kids and a house in the 'burbs put a stop to that real quick.

Planning on being at Shea on Sunday with all three of those monkeys.

I like "God Bless America" but I do prefer "America the Beautiful," especially when Ray Charles sings it.

It ought to be our National Anthem.

Yancy - Iubitul similarity rating goes up another notch...

I used to do the same thing all the time, too - the same things stop me...

and somewhere, Howard Cosell is spinning in his grave...

Monday night at the Bobby, Outfield Loge, Section M51, right behind the rightfield pole. Come by, say hi. I'll buy you a nacho.

I would be there on Saturday, if not for an old college buddy of mine's wedding. Interestingly enough the wedding ceromony is taking place in the chapel on the Fairfield University campus! He lives in the town of Fairfield. Reception is in Westport though.

Yes, still going.

Just me and my 10 year-old, 8 year-old and 6 year-old. I'll be lucky if I get to see an uninterrupted half-inning.

My daughter's going to make make another sign so keep an eye out.

See you there. I'll be dressed like an idiot.

Soupy, did that suck or what?

Fortunately, i had to go pick up my son by 5, so we left after the 7th. But my daughter is hardcore. She wanted to stay till the bitter end, and she pouted in the car until the final out.

6 errors, 11 walks. Man. That had to be the worst game i've ever seen them play in person.

I totally saw you.

We left after the 7th as well, walked out by the Mets shop behind home plate - you wearing a gray shirt and a black Mets hat.

I yelled your name and then one of my kids grabbed my attention and when I looked up you were gone.

Yes it totally sucked and I think it was possibly the worst game I've been in attendance for.

I was sitting next to some Phillies fans and they were bummed after Beltran tied it at 5. I told them not to worry.

Being there by myself with three kids was also no easy feat. I must have gone to the bathroom 7 times with them and since one was my daughter I had to clean pee off toilet seats in the men's room at least three times. That was fun.

At least it wasn't the game you used as your wedding reception. That couple's got to wonder what the future has in store.

They probably figure their marriage has nowhere to go but up!

It's like that scene in GARP, where the plane flies into the house, so Garp decides to buy it because its been "pre-disaster-ed".

Yeah, Soupy, that was me in the grey shirt. I didn't hear you. We were in box 215, which was probably right behind you, in the first box above the walkway.

Their not my seats.. i buy them from a guy i know, though, so i get 3-4 games/yr from him. I love those seats. But not on days like that.
