Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 I'm going to the game tonight!Section M51, row 2, seat 3. I should see you there, Edgy, we're in the same section. I'll be wearing a Mets hat and a GW shirt.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 If you see John Maine in the hallway, tell him I insist he pitch at least 7 strong innings.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Otherwise, it'll be clobberin' time.

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Oh.....He's a student and he goes to GWU!Silly me.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 He has a recliner and a hot tub and recently working cable!
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 ...and he owns a mansion and a yacht and his name is Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 I could use a damn hot tub right now, but I don't have one.And yeah, I go to George Washington University.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Saturday vs The Fish.Hopefully NOT the last time at Shea for 2007.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Got Sunday tickets a few months ago. Hopefully the game won't still meansomething and if I go it'll just be for the shits and giggles of wishing the boysgood luck in the next round.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I'll be there tomorrow for Humber.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Fell into four freebies for Friday night. Bringing the family. Puts me in the unenviable position of wanting the Mets to clinch ASAP, but also wanting to be there when they clinch.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 ASAP would be Thursday.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I've already begun my search for an answer to my kids' (8 and 4) big question tomorrow night:"Why is everybody booing and yelling at the Mets?"Suggestions for a (diplomatic) answer welcome.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Because they don't love their children as much as I do.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Couldn't sleep this morning.Woke up thinking I need to be there -- see them pull this thing out, or even if they just fuck it up to historical proportions -- live, in person.Got a single upper box seat on metsdotcom. I'll probably hang out in the mezzthough, the carpet baggin' seat wanderer that I am when in one of my moods.I'm going in.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Well, I'll need something to restrain myself from going over the Marlin dugout and charging the field if today turns out as crappy as the rest of the week has been.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 One issue if I may. Back in July/August whenever it was, they had Ralph Kiner night, and they presented him with a special plaque, akin to the one they gave Bob Murphy on his night, and gave Carter honoring his induction into Cooperstown. And they said that it was going to be hung alongside them in the Diamond Club Lobby (where the HOF is).Well I was there in the Astro series, and Ralph's plaque STILL ISN'T UP! If its not up today, I'm going to be convinced that they are going to do it when the new Citi Field Mets Museum goes up in 2009.By the way, I mentioned it in an IGT, but I just realized about 2009. Its going to be weird, and sad as well (especially to those who were there when it happened), to see the Mets honor the 40th anniversary of the 1969 Mets in a freshly opened ballpark while the site of the Miracle (and all three of the celebrations) is nothing more than a parking lot.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Called the Mets to order tix to tomorrow's game on faith during the 5th inning, counting on the Phils to lose.Sitting in the Upper Deck but hafta be there tomorrow.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Yip! No Kiner plaque. Ah well, nothing you can do about it, just have to wait a year before I can get a nice photo of it.Nice running into Kase. Unfortunately I was busy looking for a batting helmet for my nephew when all the fun happened RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY SEATS! Ah well =
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I went Friday and today.Basically I deserve the blame.Sorry.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 You deserve a high five and a beer for making it through both.

Facing the elevator, they are on right in the Diamond Club Lobby
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 You;d think they would have the decency to hang Murphs plaque straight.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Taking the piss on my poor cropping skills huh Irish? Why I oughta...=
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Well I don't see what this proves. You could have easily just not cut and pasted Ralph's plaque.
