Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Well, a single moment of reflection is a start.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 After the game Thursday Giambi took his razor to his days old stubble and shaved it,though he didn't shave his stache,he went with the look that he had last summer when the yanks were hot....]“I’ve got to get us hot,” Giambi said. “I can’t go as far as shaving my head, like the Mets.”

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Martinez noticed that many of the Mets had very little hair, the result of a widespread shaving spree. "I see a lot of shaved heads," he joked to a teammate. "I'm glad I'm away from here."
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Pedro didn't shave his hair when the Sox did it in 2003 either. He was on the bandwagon with hair growth in 2004 though.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 ]"Teams go through it. Look across town," David Wright said, referring to the Yankees' injuries and struggles. "Good teams have to persevere. We've got the depth. We've got guys who would play every day on other teams. They have to step up, and the guys who are already in there are going to have to take some of that burden, step up our game."What teams would they be starting on,curious that's all.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I think he means Chavez and Easley, who have been starting due to injury, and are better than the opening-day starter on some teams.Among remaining Met reserves, the only one you can make that claim about, I think is Castro, who is certainly better than a handful of Brian Schneiders out there.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 metirish - "What teams would they be starting on,curious that's all."Zephyrs. Okay, possibly the Royals, Nationals, or DRays. The problems with the offense didn't arise when Easley had to step in for Valentin or even when Endy filled in for Alou, but once Green went down as well there wasn't an adequate replacement to fill the void. The problem isn't as much the quality of the line up when Easley and Chavez have to assume starting roles, but the depth on the bench. The quality of bats available on the bench is greatly diminished when your best reserves must assume regular duty.
