Okay, okay - in the interest of shutting you guys up.

I guess telling it in person is really no different than posting it here anyway. And it has become almost common knowledge at this point anyway.

Rotblatt had it right with El Duque. Supposedly he is not only maybe going to be on the roster for the WS (if they are lucky enough to make it) but is coming along much, much better than expected and may in fact get a start or two.

Sorry for making this appear to be more than it is, probably should have kept my mouth shut in the first place.

Lesson learned.

Can I still get a Heiny from those girls?

Tomorrow. 7:30. Loge. I'll squeal for a Heineken.

Going to be in the Mezz. Not a big fan of the Mezz's lack of dividers in the isle, may come down for a few innings and have some beers.

Steve, 7:30 on the loge concourse behind home plate before the game.
We're all sitting all over the place, this is a pre-game toast.

I'm not 100% sure why you wanted to keep this a secret from Metly opponents. After all, they woulda known when he was put on the WS roster no?

Not if they kept it a secret!

I thought you were going to tell us that Anderson Hernandez is on steroids. (How else could you explain that late season home run?)

Here's my secret. There's a chance that I could join you tonight. Someone couldn't make today's game after the rainout and was there last night. I'll find out later today if he was sober enough to have remembered to leave the tickets for me at the "will call" window.

Hope to see you....

Joe Buck: "So Dave Williams jogs in from the bullpen to get the start here in Game 1 of the 2006 World Series."
Tim Mac: "Tough break for the Mets, with every other pitcher on the roster going down to injury."
Joe Buck: "Hmm... Williams has developed quite a high leg kick."
Tim Mac: "And I thought he was white."
Joe Buck: "And lefty."

Well, you can stick him on the roster glumly with a "Maybe we'll get a key inning or two out of him, strictly as a last resort," then freak them out with a "Ta-Da! Get a look at our game one starter, bitches!"

It'll be like when they revealed that the second Death Star was fully functioinal!

Though that didn't turn out well.

And we're not evil.

Forget it.

Pedro says he's feeling great, and that he's already ahead in his recovery than he ought to be. But that's no secret; it was in the Daily News this morning.

Yancy, do you have a link? I couldn't find this article.

Well, that was in yesterday's edition, so it may no longer be online. I read it in the print edition.

As best as I can remember it, it said that he already has the mobility that he's expected to have five weeks after surgery, and that he's confident that he'll come back better than ever. (I assume that "better than ever" means better than 2005, and not better than he was at his best, but that would be fantastic!)

Thanks Yancy. I couldn't find yesterday's articles online. Basically, my two concerns about Pedro are his recovery time and whether he will regain some of his old velocity. That article seems to say we can be optimistic on both fronts.
