MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Slap SlapSnap out of it!A few weeks ago, everyone knew that the Mets were so superior to the rest of the National League that they were going to roll through the NL playoffs. But think of what this would have done to the poor networks. No mystery. Ratings would have been in the pits. They would have been forced to show reruns of old sitcoms or X-Files episodes.I have it on good authority (and I'll go to jail to protect my sources) that they pleaded with the Mets to make this more interesting. So the Mets decided to throw the other teams a bone by going into the playoffs without their best pitchers. They can, and will, still win.You know it. And they know it too.Now sit back, relax, and have another sip of this delicious Kool Aid I've been drinking.Later
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 This is fun! I mean, I feel bad about the injuries, but this is fun!
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 on the bright side, this prevents us from being like yankee fans who, instead of discussing wether or not they'll win the world series, are instead discussing how many games if any they may lose on the way. the current over/under appears to be 0.5
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 We've got a superior offense, a superior bullpen, and superior defense. Our starting pitching is dicey, sure, but every one of our potential starters has come up big for us at least once this year and is capable of doing so again. Fuck all the speculation and the rumors. I'm ready to do battle.Let's Go Mets!
