Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 El Duque gets the final out anyway. 10-3 with 3 outs to go.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I get the cliches thing coming from Bull Durham. Did the Weary/Wooly line come from there as well?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I agree w/the call because it's not like Woody was camped underneath it ... but did you see the ump pointing into foul indicating that the ball came down inside the stands even though it was 2-3 ft inside?? That's just laziness caused by the blowout.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Cliffy's over .250.Everybody who has ever booed Beltran, please step forward.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Thanks TM. I appreciate the straight answer to the simple question.I know Bull Durham, but not every little line of dialogue.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 No problem, figured that was the case.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Cliff scores on the double play - it's 11-3 going to the bottom of the 9th.I went into this series very nervous. I felt that last night's game was a must-win, because today's would surely be a lost cause. I was happy to see the Mets come from behind last night, and today's game has been an unexpected joy.Tomorrow hardly matters, although it would be nice to see Glavine permanently shed his "Manchurian Brave" identity.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Bradford comes in to pitch the 9th.Fred Flintstone could come in to pitch the 9th at this point

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Misspelled Andrew pops up for the first out of the 9th.Cliff misplays a ball - there's a runner on second with one out.
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I teased my long-time friend Paul, who is an even longer-time Braves fan, about the Braves fans showing up with bags on their heads after all that the Braves did for them for the last 14 years... If the Braves didn't deserve a mulligan, then I don't know who does...He called me a poor winner...Here I am defending his team, saying that they deserve more support from their fans, and I'm a poor winner...
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Got the books? Check!Okay, put this game in them!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 This weekend is just what we needed. The Braves are steaming up the highway .. and we throw a big fuckin boulder in their way. Another win tomorrow sends 'em back the other way.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Nice win. I don't like how Fox didn't give us a Delgado update.

Two Mets and one MFY

I usually tell peeps in other team's gear at Shea that "You're in the wrong ballpark!" or "Uh shouldn't you be in (insert wherever specific team happens to be playing in that day)"Geez, if you are going to represent New York and you aren't a Met fan, show up in a Giant, Jet, Knick, Net, Ranger, Islander, Devil, Red Bull or even a Liberty shirt
