A series loss here might be GOOD. Non-divisional opponent (hell, non-league, so the effect is mitigated) and it would prevent the Mets from the big-headedness so prevalent around these parts.

1. Losing is never good. Some wins might be better than others but losing always sucks.

2. Big-headedness? I don't see it, at least not yet. I think everybody's fully aware of what the calendar reads.

3. If there is big-headness to be had, great! I'm all for some confidence and swagger from the players. It's been sorely missed.

An interesting thought, but ultimately I disagree.

The only players who haven't struggled (much) at some point this season are Wright and Beltran.

Everyone else has had at least one large individual slump. I think that's just as important in controlling big-headedness.
