Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I've always wanted to come up with a definitive list, but it's not always easy. Knowing all the music fans here, I'm hopeful we can get something compiled.Sure, everybody knows about Mr. Wagner...but what about the rest of your 2006 New York Mets? Contributions solicited. This works for those playing along at home via Television and Radio too, as the songs can often be heard on the broadcasts...There will be a prize for anyone who can tell me what song Carlos Beltran uses.StartersTom Glavine - Sweet Child O'Mine, Guns N RosesRelieversAaron Heilman - London Calling, The ClashBilly Wagner - Enter Sandman, MetallicaCPaul LoDuca - Stayin' Alive, Bee Gees, Boogie Shoes, KC & The Sunshine Band, Shining Star, Earth, Wind & FireIFDavid Wright - several, including Brass Monkey, The Beastie BoysOFCliff Floyd - Everyday I'm Hustlin' - Rick RossXavier Nady - X, XzibitBenchJulio Franco - People Get Ready, Crystal LewisChris Woodward - Sultans of Swing, Dire Straits, Money for Nothing, Dire Straits

Woefully incomplete perhaps. Regardless, very few of those players are even with the club anymore...perhaps only Kaz is even using the same song (??)

There are a lot of players missing on each team.
Guest martin Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 tom glavine often comes out to bat to a little pan flute part of a lil' jon song, from "what you gonna do". and this is a pretty hardcore gangsta song, so i guess either tom is a straight up playa, or his teammates chose it for him, or maybe that part of the song is sampled from somewhere else and i didnt realize it.last year david wright came out to "encore" by jay-z and linkin park, but i havent heard it this year. reyes always plays reggaeton, i am working hard on figuring out the specifics. he used to play "gasolina", but not anymore. also i am trying to make out the lyrics of beltrans song: "something aqui!, something aqui!". at first i thought it was "perros aqui" (dogs here), but i think that is wrong. it made sense when i first heard it the during the doggies-in-the-picnic-area game i went to tuesday, but i listened again and i cant make it out. i need to find a native spanish speaker to help me with all the latin music.sure things:julio franco always comes out to a song called "people get ready" by a christian woman called crystal lewis. "people get ready, jesus is coming".cliff floyd has been coming out to "everyday i'm hustlin" by miami rapper rick ross.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 ]C Paul LoDuca - Stayin' Alive, Bee Gees, Boogie Shoes, KC & The Sunshine Band, Shining Star, Earth, Wind & Fire I've noticed that, and wondered--is he a disco guy?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 ="cooby"]]C Paul LoDuca - Stayin' Alive, Bee Gees, Boogie Shoes, KC & The Sunshine Band, Shining Star, Earth, Wind & Fire I've noticed that, and wondered--is he a disco guy? He's from Brooklyn just like John Travolta's character in Saturday Night Fever. Maybe he struts too.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I'd be embarrassed to strut to the plate with that music playing, and it doesn't seem to fit LoDuca's hot temper, I thought he'd be more an Anthrax or Type O Negative kinda guy.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Somebody hit Lo Duca in the hair and see how he responds.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I think it's great. It shows he has a sense of humor.

It was the soundtrack to my adolescence.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Aaron Heilman went way up in my book when I first heard him enter to London Calling.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Agree on Aaron. And a great choice by Woodward.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Where's our last Personal Opening Music thread. Some days, a guy just needs to hear "In Edgy's Eyes."
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 So the question on the table should be:What should Lasting's music be?I would suggest the theme song for Home Depot (if there is one) because the kid has all the tools.Thoughts?Later
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 You'd have to do something with "Last" in the title or lyrics. How about "Last Dance" by Donna Summers?
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Michelle Simon let me feel her up after we went rollerskating to 'Last Dance'So that might be oddly appropriate for him.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Okay everybody: Start Googling images of Michelle Simon!(An extra ten points to anyone who finds pictures of Michelle on skates, roller or ice!)
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Don't bother - it was junior high school.I'm sure she's married for years now with a different name.Perverts.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Okay, let's play Which Michelle Did Soupcan Skate With?Or, alternatively, let us know which Michelle you'd rather skate with.Michelle Simon Number 1Michelle Simon Number 2Michelle Simon Number 3Michelle Simon Number 4Michelle Simon Number 5Michelle Simon Number 6Michelle Simon Number 7Michelle Simon Number 8Michelle Simon Number 9
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Number 2 and 7 aren't linking.I'd guess the most promising skate partner is the exercise biker. Beagles can be noisey, smelly, and quite needy, however.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 An unfortunate case of catbutt for this lazy librarian named Michelle Simon.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 What do you mean lazy? It's not like she can sit down and work with a cat on her butt.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Michelle Simon #1 looks most like her but it ain't her.I don't recall if she had a cat or not.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I love when this forum actually makes me laugh out loud at my desk.
