Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 In light of my eerie prediction yesterday, I'd like to keep my IGT Mojo going, and in light of Willets' contention recently that he was "bad luck" when starting IGTs propose we do a stupid thing and reserve the first post in a game-thread to the same author, consecutively, for as long as the team wins the game(s) they start.Authors may start their game thread no earlier than Midnight of the official Game Day and no later than first pitch, obviously. They also should designate a Mojo replacement author in the event:a) The winning streak ends and/or The author for whatever reason is unable to perform thread-starting duties for the following day's game thread.I bring up option B because although I'm CAHNfident we have a Magic Winning Streak going, I may be placed on the physically unable to perform list very soon. So in the event the streak ends (unlikely) and/or we win and I haven't started a game thread for the next day that morning, I designate Rockin' Doc to be my Mojo Replacement Officer/successor.Goit it?At the end of the year we'll be able to tell which of us is to blame or credit for the year we had and enable further denial over what really happened. Sounds good?Oh, LGM!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 No game specific performance demands for this one?
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I don't wanna get into that. I had a strong feeling yesterday.Suffice it to say I'm CAHNfident of a win tonighht
Guest abogdan Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I'm assuming that someone will, of course, be keeping track of all IGT thread starter records. That way we know who to go to in the middle of a losing streak.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I'm confused. So two weeks from now, when the winning streak is over, does that mean Rockin Doc has to start the next IGT?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 i think after a loss we should just let whoever wants to start it (and has something to say other than "woohoo i started it") do so.i like the idea of staying with the same person after a win though.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 It's a cute idea, but silly. Let's do it."Cute, but silly" = CPF motto?

A loss wipes the slate clean and it's anyone's game.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 It's supposed to rain very heavy in NY tonight, any word on Philly, rain + Traschel = a long night.
Guest KC Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 MFS posted in some thread here that it's gonna rain cats and dogs.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I see Eager Elmos starting threads five minutes after the previous game ends.As opposed to me who started the IGT for Game one sometime in Novemeber.
Guest old original jb Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 The SBS greatly approves of this new practice, but urges, nay implores, threadstarters not to overexpress their CAHNfidence in any IGT."The SBS--We're Really Very Rational in Real Life"

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Gwreck is aggresive, but has the game to back it up.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 First game after Johnny loses I want Gwreck in there.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Starting IGT's, like the save rule, should take into account degree of difficulty. It's one thing to get fat on Florida/Nationals games. It's another to start a St. Louis IGT.

I did notice that SteveJRogers declared a "must win series" against the Braves, started the IGT for the first game and victory followed.mlbaseballtalk also declared the start of a turnaround after a 2-game losing streak, started the IGT vs. the Giants (another victory).
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 So what happens if the Mets win lets say 8 or 9 in a row, it would be abuse to just keep throwing Dickshot out there everyday.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Who's turn is it for the Brewers KTE?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Gwreck is going to do the Brewers, as per his trade with me.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I don't get what Willie is thinking sometimes. Maybe he thinks the worst hitter in the lineup is supposed to hit #2.(I'm not implying that Floyd is the worst hitter in the lineup, but he's still on the interstate, and the choice to put him at #2 is puzzling.)
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Perhaps the idea is that if Floyd hits #2, he'll get better pitches to hit, with Beltran, Delgado and Wright behind him? It's certainly more imagination that we've seen Randolph have in a while, I think.
