Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Oldest player to draw a walk in the ninth inning of a tie game?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Lots of speed on the bases for the Mets after Reyes singles. A gapper could be two runs.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 LMAO, a gift-wrapped double play ball and he throws it into center field!its good to be lucky.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 ]A gapper could be two runs.unless the ball goes over the fence the game will end instantly o the first runn

Guest GYC Guests Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Can someone re-cap the bottom of the 9th? I was watching 24 and trying to follow game at the same time. It didn't work.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Nymr83 - "unless the ball goes over the fence the game will end instantly o the first runn"Damn, I had a brain freeze in the heat of battle. Somehow I kept thinking that Washington had another at bat. Glad the Mets won. We'll take the wins anyway we can get them.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 yeah, absent a serious injury to a Met player theres no bad wins.

It didn't work. You know, there are going to be a lot of people clamouring for seats on the bandwagon pretty soon. We can't have that sort of behavior.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I'm pretty sure I won that race, plus I'm the only one who mispelled "shot" as "shit" and didn't bother to change it.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 You not only had the fastest reply, but you also had the most entertaining description of the bottom of the ninth.

We can't have that sort of behavior.Yeah, especially since I missed Friday night's entire game except the 9th... but I think that if you miss a Mets game to go to a low-A ball Mets game on a windy 55 degree night, you should be excused. (Fernando Martinez is awesome. He gave me a thumbs up when I called his name in pre-game warmups.)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 The non double-switching for Wagner didn't suprise me so much as that he didn't go with Sanchez for a 2nd inning - especially since his one inning was pretty quick & clean and that you knew the end of the order would be coming up the following inning.I guess Willie was going w/the tactic of trying to use relievers more often for shorter stints, keeping Duaner & Wags available for the future games (no days off this week) w/o having to sit them due to a long outing. Bobby V used to work that way often also.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Can't argue with the reults neither. Not tonite.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Great reults.]Yeah, especially since I missed Friday night's entire game except the 9th... but I think that if you miss a Mets game to go to a low-A ball Mets game on a windy 55 degree night, you should be excused. (Fernando Martinez is awesome. He gave me a thumbs up when I called his name in pre-game warmups.)This isn't about Friday. You're reframing the argument and trying to take advantage of my ADD here. You're not the fir.. Oh, look, something shiny....
