Bonds lines to deep center and it's over. A few innings late, but it's ours.

Well done, posters. Oliver gobbles up a win.

go go Darren Oliver!

Still there's quite a bit to throw in the WIllie Watch here I reckon ...
Great win though 14-7's a pretty tasty start, even if we just get 1 from 3 in atlanta they'll be below .500 and we'll be well above.

I'm not happy that Wagner blew the save, but I am happy about the fact that the blown save didn't define the game. In the past few years, the Mets would not have been able to rebound from such a blow. It's nice to see that they can rally and pick up their closer after a less than stellar performance.

Blame that blown save on the inept third baseman, not the closer. Wagner should have had a 1-2-3 inning.

The inept third baseman (whom I love) definitely contributed to the mess. But the gopher ball to Bonds was all Wagner.

I was in a strip mall parking lot listening to the final out being recorded on my Walkman. I proceeded to yell

"YEAH! TAKE THAT YA STEROID RIDDLED FREAK!"

Full blame has to go to Wright here.

Afterward, nearly every teammate approached Wright to console him about the error, his fifth since last Wednesday. The win made the error easier to absorb, but Wright still approached Wagner to apologize. "Don't you ever apologize to me again," the closer instructed him.
