Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 We should stop walking people who bat in front of Alou.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 ="Rotblatt"]Nady flies out "to deep left."We're just missing an awful lot today. That one was a running catch on the warning track.

Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Alou flies out to deep center and Vizcaino advances to third. Two more outs, big guy.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 86 pitches but he's batting 2nd. I figure he stays if Chavez can get his ass on base. Hard to say otherwise. Bullpen is pretty well-rested.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Whew. Niekro lines out to left to end the inning. Do we trot Bannister out there again? He's only at 86 pitches, but is due up second.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 He's on deck, nobody throwing in the pen.OE: And does bat.

Bullpen is pretty well-rested.Heilman should be ready to go, but Sanchez threw 27 pitches last night. Do we try Bradford out in a tie game? Or do we hope Heilman can stretch out to 3 innings?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Bannister bats. The right call, I think. See if we can squeeze one more out of him, then go to Heilman.

Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Holy deja vu, Batman!Bannister doubles to deep right.I guess his pops wasn't lying when he said Bannister was a good hitter.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 If we're going to be pinch hitting for anyone, it's Chavez and not Bannister.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Big hit for Matsui. Shit, Bannister is limping home on the play and falls down.
Guest KC Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 That looks bad - right hammy for Mannister. The last 55 feet home werepainful to watch. Crapfart.

I needed an image for my class project, and that one fit.I prefer to think of the 24 as being for Willie Mays. And holy crap! How could Bannister hurt himself running the bases (especially after he looked so good on that double)?

Well, Iriki has been throwing the ball well (16.7 IP, 2.70 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 16 K, 6 BB), as has Gonzalez (23 IP, 3.52 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 16 K, 5 BB) . . .Or do we send Heilman to the rotation and call up Bell to replace him?
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I think the Mets will be very reluctant to move Hielman again, and also they seem happy with his work there. Iriki or Gonzo seem more logical, if Bannister has to miss a few starts. Does he?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Keith and Gary think it's a hammy.I give him credit for scoring the run despite his obvious pain.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Heilman takes over for the time being. Tough break for Bannister. Maybe he'll be back in a month or so . . .
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Willie remembers to double-switch, putting Woodward in at 2nd. Heilman looking good, as usual.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Good move by Willie there. Heilman with 2 K's and a ground out from the pinch hitter Sweeney.
