True. But in most of those cases the make-up day's weather isn't worse than the weather that initially caused the make-up to be necessary.

With any luck, the Braves will be one very tired team when they come to Shea on Monday.

I'm rooting for the Braves to kick the snot out of the Phillies this weekend and put a crimp in their wild card hopes.

BTW, the inn that served as the exterior of The Strafftord is on the web: http://www.wayburyinn.com/

Maybe not as famous as Boston's Bull & Finch Pub (but then again they've gone overboard with their Cheers connection) but I'm sure it gets it's fair share of gawkers and tourists

Amen to that. Considering the way the Phils handled us recently, I'd hate to face them in an NLCS matchup

Heh! Thats Romans 10:9
There is a story in Bad Guys Won where a guy's wife got a card signed by Teufel and thought Timmy was hitting on her by saying "Room 109"

Ehem:

Some folks like to get away, take a holiday from the neighborhood
Hop a flight to Miami Beach or Hollywood.
Me, I'm taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River Line
Cause I'm in a new york state of mind.

I seen all the movie stars in their fancy cars and their limousines,
Been high in the Rockies under the Evergreens,
But I know what I'm needing and I don't want to waste more time
I'm in a New York State of Mind.

It was so easy living day by day
Out of touch with the rhythm and the blues,
But now I need a little give and take,
The New York Times, The Daily News...
Woah ohh whoah

It comes down to reality and its fine with me cause I've let it slide,
Dont care if its Chinatown or Riverside,
I don't have any reasons, Ive left them all behind
I'm in a New York State of Mind.

It was so easy living day by day
Out of touch with the rhythm and the blues,
But now I need a little give and take,
The New York Post, Newsday to...
Yeah yeah, yeah

It comes down to reality and its fine with me cause I've let it slide,
Dont care if its Bensonhorst or Bayside,
I don't have any reasons, Ive left them all behind
I'm in a New York State of Mind.

I'm just taking a Grey....Hound

On the

Hudson

Riv-ah lineeeeee

Cause I'm in....

I'm in a Neeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww Yoooooooooooorrrrrrk!

State of.....

MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

Marlins are a half game back of the Phils, but even in the loss column, which means that they currently share the tragic number, for the division, of 11

We're on our own to reduce the magic number today. Chase Utley's extra innings homer gave the Phillies a win over Houston.

Isn't their bullpen tired yet?

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] ...These go to eleven.

With the Mets and Philly both rained out tonight, we're stuck on 11 for another day.

Hmmm, I would have gone with Gregg Jefferies or 1969's J.C. Martin though. Jim Hickman and Todd Hundley would have been top choices as well
