Not a good idea. I hear he's a real jerk.

Or maybe we could first disrupt his carefully concocted "Most Looked Up List" and then swipe a few images to use as icons.
Much more fun than some stuffy, formal invitation IMO.

51 would be good for a Tie for 42nd all-time in MLB.
Well off of Earl Webb's record of 67 and Ducky Medwick's NL record of 64.

My guess is that Cliff will not add to his total after this year and will end the year at about 24th all time as a Met. Could the forum's namesake's record be in jeopardy one day?

Where do you look up "Most Extra-Innings Game Played in a Single Season?"

Edit: As soon as I hit Submit, Keith gave it to us: Boston Red Sox - 31 extra inning games in 155 games played. I missed the year. Did anyone else catch it?

the only post-war season on the list, and Reyes has a shot at catching him.
one of the consequences of tiny bandboxes, besides increased homeruns, is a decrease in triples because balls dont have as much room to bounce around anymore

Dale Mitchell's 1949 is also postwar, as is Willie Wilson's 1985.

In how many Met all-time offensive categories, without getting too obscure, does Straw not rank in the top 5?

Certainly the percentage categories like BA, but how many of the "cumulative" categories?

I'll look into that and report on my next update (if someone doesn't beat me to it), but Reyes is halfway to Mookie in triples, and he's, like, nine years old. Seriously, he could well break a Mets all-time cumulative record at 24 or 25 years old. That's remarkable.

Ummm, something's off with your 'Glavine end of the season' and Glavine now' totals in the all-time Mets wins column.
He has 10 wins this season.

Yeah, that wasn't supposed to be there. Sorry. He's tied with Al Jackson.

How cool that Jesse has 47 wins as a Met.

Delgado also became the fourth Met to reach 20 home runs in the team's first 70 games, matching Dave Kingman (game 52 in 1976), Darryl Strawberry (game 64 in 1987), and Mike Piazza (game 68 in 2000).
