nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 i tried linking Julio Franco to babe Ruth, but it told me that they were teammates when Franco was only 40.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 According to Mike's bio, he and the Splendid Splinter had a private batting lesson in his backyard batting cage-- so if you're looking to linkn the two, you don't need Jim Fregosi or the Candy Man!

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 The glitch is that "played with" simply means that they appeared for the team in the same season, not necessarily that they actually dressed on the same day. And considering that a lot of these linkages are of old players in their last season and young players getting their feet wet, they often didn't actually share a clubhouse.

That links every player from 1962 to every player on the current roster (except for those who did not play for the Mets last year), all without leaving the Mets.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Well, Alex left the Mets and came back. It'll take one more player to link with continuous Metly employment. Kranepool-Orosco-Gooden-Franco-Wright, or something.Even that sort of whitewashes Orosco's two-plus-season exile at Tidewater, though. John Stearns takes you from 1979 to 1984, though he was injured virtually all of his last two seasons.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Duh. Ron Hodges gets you from 1979 to 1984 without fudging.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Not to mention he got a haircut.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 He's got a whole new webpage, and looks like, a whole new job. He was formerly at Nottingham College. He may have gotten a makeover from British Queer Eye for the Straight Accounting Professor.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Boy, he's really hunked himself up.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 It looks like he got a haircut and smaller glasses. Also, he either had dental work or he's learned to position his lip in such a way that not so much of his teeth are exposed.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2006 Author Posted January 31, 2006 What's the story behind this guy?, I'm finding it hard to accept the 'new' Ron.
