The only time I'd root for the Braves is if they play the Yankees. Although i won't complain if they spank Clemens.

My vote, by the way, is "mild for Astros."

I have always hated the braves more than the yanks. . . however, this year seems different for some reason. I think I have finally accepted that the Braves run a good system (maybe the best in the ML), while the Yanks just outspend everyone.

So, my hatred of the Braves has just turned into envy with a bit of jealousy and, even, some appreciation of what they have done and have managed to do.

I would also like to win to shut up all those people who said "the Mets are losing to a team that is mostly rookies!"

So I am, quietly, pulling for them. Although, I would still rather see the Red Sox win it again to really stick it to the yankees.

I went with a mild preference for the 'Stros, although holychicken makes a good point.

If Clemens were to get hit by a bus, I'd unabashedly root for Houston, but right now, it's more of a toss up.

Just some dumbass Red Sox fan aquaintances of mine. They are totally schizo. One second they are pro-Mets because of our mutual enemy. . .the next second you would swear that they thought the Mets were the Yankee Jrs.

They were arguing with me a week ago that the Mets are actually WORSE this year than last year because they finished 4th place in 2004 and they were in 5th place at the time and, as they said, "In the end the only thing that matters is how you finish and, considering they are going to finish in 5th they are worse."

And, normally, these guys actually know what the hell they are talking about. This drove me to the edge of insanity.

No, not at all, Edgy. . . because they finished the entire season, including the post season, as the champs. So, they only way for them to be as good as last year is to win it all. . .and do so in very dramatic fashion.

Again, I don't know what overcame them. . .they just went psycho and made some pretty stupid arguements. Somehow, finishing 12 games better in a division that got better all around doesn't mean you are a better team.

Actually, I gave up a while ago. . . I shouldn't have said anything because now you are giving me painful flashbacks. . .I always painfully flashback when it comes to stupidity.

Gotta root for my adopted hometown team -- at least when they're playing my second-least favorite team. Now, if it comes down to a 'Stros-Red Sox world series, it'll have to be the Sox. The joy of twisting that knife deeper into the hearts of MFY fans far outweighs any loyalty I have to the city of Houston.

Any team that involves Drayton McLane signing checks to Roger Clemens will only be wished the worst by me.

Wow. This reminds me of the Braves-MFY World Series of 1999...the first fall classic where I did not watch one minute of any game.

I'm hoping the Braves win because anyone that employs Roger Clemens deserves the worst.

I'm also hoping they go on to win the World Series, and then Bobby Cox and Leo Mazzone decide to retire on a high note.

I admire the way the Braves' organization continually promotes young players from their farm system to contribute to the team. It's amazing how they just keep coming up with good young players to fill holes in their line up. They are an organization to learn from and copy.

I really don't have anything against the Astros other than the fact they employ Clemens. The only good thing about Clemens pitching for the Astros, is that at least he isn't helping the Yankees win.

Bagwell and Biggio have been good for so long, that it really wouldn't upset me to see the Astros win.

I voted a mild preference for the Braves.

Craig Biggio actually had a career-high 26 homers this season.

Look at his numbers, and he deserves to be a Hall-of-Famer.
