seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I know it's silly to throw up a quiz when there's a crucial, pennant-race deciding game going on, but I figure nobody's watching Phillies-Astros anyway. The Mets have had plenty of prospects who never turned out (Al Shirley, Kirk Presley, Julian Vazquez), and some who were dealt at the peak of their prospecthood (Ed Yarnall, Geoff Goetz), and some who shot up to the major league level quickly (Alex Ochoa, Bill Pulsipher). Some players, however, rise through the system slowly and become part of silly trivia questions.Since 1990, nineteen Mets prospects -- two catchers, three third basemen, two shortstops, six outfielders, six right-handed pitchers, and one lefty -- have appeared at least twice on Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects list while in the system. Some may have appeared as members of other organizations, but only nineteen appeared at least twice -- and six of them appeared three times -- on the list as Mets prospects.Name them. And for bonus points, identify the six guys who made it to the list three times. And for ANOTHER bonus point, name the only two #1 BA prospects since 1990 who have ever appeared in a Mets uniform. (Hint: One was a first base prospect, one was a pitcher.)

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Dumb idea: how about Hideo Nomo as the pitcher who was an overall number-one prospect? Is he eligible?
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 damn. i just cheated, and know the answer to the bonus question.ain't nobody getting that one. also, isn't it kinda unfair...?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Dozier and Valera are the last two.And yes, the other half of the bonus question is unfair.
