Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 A shoutout to seawolf, who indicated that he would be at the game!
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 A five pitch walk to the first batter.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 The first pitch to Loretta is a ball, prompting a "coaching visit to the mound".
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 A 6-4-3 groundout, a walk to Giles, and a fly out by Nevin, and the no-hitter is alive through one.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Nothing of note in the Mets half of the first or the top of the second. 0-0.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 6 up, 6 down for Peavy. Still no score.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Doug Mientkiewicz homers (10) on a fly ball to right field.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Through 4 complete, it's your New York Mets 1 and the San Diego Padres 0.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Young walks with two outs and is thrown out trying to steal second.5 IP, 3 H, 1 K, 4 BB, 0 R for Ishii.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Ishii walks, and Reyes follows with a "soft single to right."Where is everybody? We're trying to sweep here people.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Reyes steals second, and Itchy scores and Reyes advances on the subsequent throwning error.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Gary described Castro's HR as "the hardest hit ball we've seen by a RH hitter all year" on a line over Casey's number.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Then Cameron dubbles like Barney Rubbles.Freaking cool. Let's play in the NL West next year.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 I like Reyes batting leadoff, especially on a team with no other leadoff options.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 The beat-down is on!Ee-Shee out-pitching Pee-Vee in this here I Gee-Tee
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Now let's just avoid an Ishiimiddleinningmeltdown and rest Bert and Loop again.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 ]Let's play in the NL West next year.Well that's not going to happen of course -- but we can take some solace in the fact that these are only games 7, 8, & 9 this year for us against the very weak west* which is less than any other NL East team. This could be time to make up some ground**.* I saw some 'Since June 1' records the other day: no one in the West had anything near a .500 mark. Colorado was actually best and they were all a bunch of 18-25 type marks (or worse).** Last time we said something like this we wound up getting our clocks cleaned by Seattle & Oakland
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I like Reyes, period. I wish he'd get on base at a greater clip but he has a high fun factor which shouldn't be overlooked.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 The top of the sixth started with a walk and a single, but Ishii pitches out of it.Top 6TH B:4 S:1 O:0Mark Loretta walks. Guest holychicken Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Elster, tripod is a beotch and won't let you link to pictures hosted by them. . .all I see is "hosted by tripod"
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Nah, I'm here. Decided it wasn't worth driving 90 minutes to see Ishii give up fifteen baserunners in four innings.Guess I was wrong!Either way, too many kids there today.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Who are these hitters playing in the Mets uniforms today?
duan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 i've caught since the 4th innning and they've simply been playing great baseball.
