Favorite Shea Stadium Food

What is your favorite food to get at Shea Stadium?

Mine is french fries from Nathans.

But I gotta admit, I don't get there much :)

Is beer a food? Hell, close enough for me. Likely won't do your eight year old much good though.

For me it's the stuff that Kase makes at his tailgate parties. Sausages with onions and peppers - yum!

I like the Italian Sausage inside Shea. The Nathans fries are good now that they are on board.

Nothing tastes batter at Shea than a big bag of peanuts. Peanuts at any ballpark taste better than peanuts you eat anywhere else.
I don't know why, but they do.
Maybe it has to do with the fact thatyou can drop the shells on the floor and not feel guilty about it.

This is as good a thread as any to rant about something that will likely never change, but is very relevant.

On behalf of all of us -- and there are a lot of us -- with peanut allergies... please keep your peanuts and your peanut shells to yourself. The peanut allergy is very severe; even dust in the air can send us into anaphylactic shock. I don't care if you enjoy your peanuts at the ballgame; just please please please don't throw your shells all over the place.

If the smell is overbearing, and there are other seats available, I'll move; you're not obligated to be responsible for my health. All I -- we -- ask is that you be cognizant of your surroundings, and be aware of this very serious medical condition.

I've heard a lot about folks with peanut allergy and how serious it can be.
But it wasn't until I read your post that I realized that the shells themselves might be harmful to others.
I should have realized that because I'm allergic to cooked green peppers. If I'm in a place that has fajitas on the menu, if a waiter walks past my table carring that dish, the smoke blowing in my direction causes my eyes to tear and I get itchy. So I can imagine the effects of "second hand" peanuts on you.
I promise I'll be more careful (maybe even bring a plastic bag for the shells) in the future.

I don't usually eat at Shea, and if I do it's usually a scramble for whatever doesn't have meat - pretzels, french fries, etc.

WP, you can put your mind at ease. From the taste of them, I'm pretty sure that the burgers served at Shea don't contain any meat. At least no commonly used meat.

I always go for the chicken tenders that are served behind home plate. They're pretty good, and pretty filling. They also give you a bunch of french fries, too. It's more expensive than a hot dog, but I'm usually not hungry for the rest of the game, so it's all good.

Chicken fingers are the great ballpark food value secret -- they usually come with a heap of fries for around the price of two hot dogs. BIg thumbs up for the chicken fingers at Ducks games.

I had a hot dog at Shea, for the first time in ages. They now serve Nathan's hot dogs in the stands, and I had one - it was really good!

God bless Mini-Knight...I wish I could go back to the time when just being at the ballpark was so great they could serve anything and it tasted good.

In any case, I just had the italian sausage, Nathan's fries and a large bag of peanuts and I had no complaints about any of them.

Yesterday MK had the Nathan's chicken fingers and fries, and he was very happy with them. It cost $7, but it kept him full for the rest of the game (although he did find room for a commemorative capful of Carvel soft serve in the late innings).

This is fairly old news, and I don't remember what parks serve them (not Shea obviously) but there is a bacon-cheesburger out there being served on two Krispy Kreme donuts instead of a bun.

And I really want to try one.
