seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I completely misjudged the lineup above. Ignore that. Sorry.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Who says Loopy doesn't ever get 1-2-3 innings? (I mean, aside from all the radio callers sure to chime in next time he doesn't)
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 The SBS applauds the CPF for playing the negative Karma perfectly with Looper coming in for the 9th ;)
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I can just hear the sports talk callers on the radio now:"Beltran only steals bases when Pedro starts".Later

Someday, we will use its power for good, like the SoSH folks did.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Use its power for good? You mean that if we go around saying; "oh these fuckers are gonna blow this one for sure", that in 86 years (or, I guess 86 minus 19 and counting by now) we too we win the World Series?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 i was there today, great game.Beltran could have moonwalked home from 3rd and stolen the plate easily.that shift against Floyd is STUPID.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2005 Author Posted June 30, 2005 They had the shift on with a runner on third? Will someone explain to me now why he didn't bunt the ball up the third base line? Unless he's the crappiest bunter ever, Nymr is right, Beltran could crawl home and Floyd would easily make it to first.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Cliff did bunt for a basehit earlier in the game against the shift ... nice bunt too.The problem w/the time where Carlos was on 3rd was that he didn't get there (via his 2nd consect stolen base) until there were 2 strikes on Cliff w/2 outs. Bunting unsuccessfully there w/your best power hitter would look really effing stupid. And - even though Carlos could lead halfway down the line w/that shift on - it's virtually impossible to steal home w/a righty pitcher and lefty hitter unless the pitcher is stupid enough to deal from the full windup.
